BURKHOLDER. On Monday,
October 12th, 2015 I had an
accident. Thankfully “a guardian
angel” was by my side when it
happened or the outcome could have
been totally different. I am very
fortunate and happy to be making a
quick recovery and everything is
healing as it should. The paramedics,
ICU nurse Theresa and the nursing
staff and doctors in Simcoe Norfolk
General and Hamilton General
Hospitals are to be commended for
their professionalism, expertise,
caring and compassion shown to me
and my family after the accident.
Thank-you to our many customers
for your patience and concern. A
“sincere Thank-you” to family and
friends for your many acts of
kindness, the offers for help, phone
calls, visits and get well cards.
Thank-you for the visits of my co-
fire fighters. Your support and
concern has been immeasurable and
for Rev. Gary Clark for his visit to
me in Hamilton General. Thank-you
to Annie and David for the lovely
supper brought to our home. Thank-
you to my family for their love and
support and being with me through
this. I know it has been an emotional
and difficult time for them. Last but
not least “I am truly blessed to live in
a community and county with so
many caring friends. As in the movie
“It’s a Wonderful Life. A man is
truly wealthy who has friends”.
Thank-you. – Bill Burkholder. 42-1

PEARSON. The family of the late
Edna C. Pearson wishes to express
their appreciation to Dr. Maarten
Bokhout and the staff of Huronlea
for the Aged during mom’s Palliative
Care. Our mother received
compassionate nursing care and our
family was invited to stay in the
lovely Huronlea guest room. Mom
had so many dedicated friends who
visited her on a regular basis;
provided nurturing, flowers and
treats for her to enjoy. Friends in the
community extended warm
hospitality to our family inviting us
to stay in their homes during Mom’s
failing health. We enjoyed
reconnecting with old friends of
Brussels. Thank you to retired Pastor
Sandra Cable who officiated at the
funeral service; reflected on our
mother’s love of nursing, church and
the Brussels community. The last
five years she was a liberated woman
using her electric wheelchair; often
spotted at the farmers’ market or
enjoying an ice cream cone. Thank
you for wonderful memories. Our
family received the gift of music
from granddaughter Andrea Pyle
who sang “Amazing Grace” and the
church choir who sang “Closer Walk
With Thee” under the direction of
organist Glenda Morrison. The
hymn, “Abide With Me” will remain
a beautiful memory of the Huronlea
Honour Guard. A cherished memory.
Family and friends enjoyed the
refreshments and the delicious lunch
prepared by the UCW (United
Church Women). Thank you to
everyone who participated including
Bob Kellington, the caretaker of
Brussels United Church who
provided close assistance to our
family. Our family wishes to
acknowledge the friends and family
who acted as pallbearers and flower
bearers. Pallbearers were Ron
Hoffman, Bob Kellington, Murray
Hoover, Frank Workman, Kirk
Procter and Kyle Procter. Flower
bearers were Danielle Procter and
Andrea Pyle. Thank you. Lastly,
thank you to Schimanski Funeral
Home for orchestrating the funeral
arrangements; providing guidance
during a difficult time. Much
appreciated. Sincerely, The Pearson
Girls – Nancy, Joyce and Janet and
families. 42-1p

RAMMELOO. When you
experience a life-altering event in
your life the road to recovery is not a
solitary journey. Many wonderful
people have touched my life since
my stroke on Aug. 6. Thank you to
Mac Brooks, the answer to my
prayer, who came up the driveway
and found me on the floor and called
911. Thank you to family and friends
for your prayers, words of
encouragement, visits, cards,
flowers, meals and tasty treats. –
Raymond and Wilma Rammeloo.

their kind support, thoughts and

Floyd Herman and the United
Church choir for their “Ministry of
Music”; the UCW for their delicious

forever, but we take comfort
knowing she will live in the hearts of
all who shared their grief with us
during this difficult time. – The van
