Collision injures two, kills one
Huron County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) officers along with
members from the OPP West Region
Technical Traffic Collision
Investigation Team (TTCI) were on
scene to investigate an early
morning fatal crash that occurred
south of Molesworth on Oct. 2.
At approximately 4:30 a.m.
officers from the Huron County OPP
Detachment along with personnel
from the Grey Fire Department and
Huron County EMS responded to
the crash scene located on Maple
Keys Line between Jamestown Road
and Browntown Road.
The initial investigation has
determined the driver of a GMC
pickup truck was travelling
southbound on Maple Keys Line
when he lost control of his vehicle.
The vehicle left the gravel roadway
and ultimately came to rest on its
roof in the east ditch. One of the
passengers was ejected and killed.
The deceased has been identified
as an 18-year-old male from
Corunna. He was pronounced
deceased at the scene.
The driver and the second
passenger were transported from the
scene by land ambulance to a nearby
hospital. They were then airlifted to
hospital in London.
The driver, an 18-year-old from
Huron East, remains in hospital with
life threatening injuries.
An 18-year-old passenger from
Huron East also remains in hospital
with life threatening injuries.
Maple Keys Line remained closed
between Jamestown Road and
Browntown Road throughout the
day of the collision.
This collision remains under
investigation.

where their Grade 9 representatives
were elected. Congratulations Sam
Dupuis.
The Me to We group travelled to
Toronto last Thursday and listened
to some truly inspiring individuals at
We Day including: Spencer West,
Nick Jonas, and Demi Lovato. The
cross-country team had its second
meet last Thursday as well, with
great results from all of our runners.
St. Anne’s recognized a series of
excellent students during our
Awards Assembly last Wednesday,
where awards were given based on
clubs, sports and academics. Many
universities and colleges have been
visiting St. Anne’s throughout the
last month, delivering informative
presentations to our Grade 12
students who are interested in post-
secondary education.
Last Friday, the girls rugby team
played very well at their tournament
in Goderich, while the tennis team
excelled at the Huron Perth
Championships. In addition, the
students and staff at St. Anne’s
thoroughly enjoyed our welcome
back liturgy las week. A special
thanks to Father Brian McColl and
the choir for putting on a beautiful
Mass.

building event held at the Edge of Walton Challenge Course
