We have been looking forward to
this week in Auburn for quite awhile.
We will be welcoming Todd Burpo,
author of number one New York
Times best-selling book, Heaven Is
For Real, to Huron Chapel. The
book was released in 2010 and
remained on the New York Times
bestseller’s list for over 200
consecutive weeks. It has sold over
10,000 million copies and continues
to encourage people today that
heaven is real.
Todd will begin the weekend by
sharing at the Huron Chapel’s men’s
steak and eggs breakfast 9 a.m. this
Saturday morning downstairs at the
church. All men, 18 years of age and
older, are welcome to join us. There
is no cost but we need to know
how many men to feed. So, if
you could let me know at
pastormark@huronchapel.org or
519-441-2223 by Friday morning if
you would like to come so we can be
better prepared to take care of you.
Later that evening Todd will be at
the Blyth Memorial Hall at 7:30 p.m.
where I will be interviewing him
about the book and the experience
his son Colton had with heaven.
Todd will also be available
afterwards to meet people and sign
books.
You will need tickets for this
event which can be purchased at the
Blyth Festival ticket office or the
Radiant Living Bookstore in
Goderich. Then on Sunday morning
we are excited to have Todd bring
the morning message in our regular
Huron Chapel Sunday service here
in Auburn at 10:30 a.m. We hope
you will be able to make these
events and be encouraged by Todd’s
story.
Some fine swine
The Central Huron 4-H Swine Club took their swine to auction and Nard Ruygrok came away
with the best sale price and the top Barrow award. Ruygrok sold swine to Brent Robinson of
Alliance Genetics of Walton for $1,450. Second was Anna Fear with the top Gilt award who
sold her swine for $1,200 to Matt Townsend of MGM Townsend Tire. Andrew Fear took third
place with $925 selling to Bill Wallace of the Hensall Co-Op. Darcy Fear earned $600 selling
to Pete Albers of Brussels, Lily McDermid sold her swine to Dave Frank of Shur-Gain of St.
Marys for $575. Katrina Gubleman sold her swine to Bill Wallace of Rowill Jerseys of Seaforth
and Shawn Ryan sold his to Jack Kroes of the Huron County Pork Producers for $475 each.
Dean Ryan sold his pig for $425 to Tim Devereaux of Deveraux Farms of Seaforth. The group
set a record this year, earning more money at auction than ever before. Shown are, back row,
