You need to have someone there to remind you what was funny about it in the first place.” The comedy is going to be well- rehearsed with the time and effort the group is putting in. The show will be universal according to Armour. “The show is going to be everyone-friendly,” he said. “Kids, adults, the elderly and everyone in between will enjoy it. There will be music, dance and acrobatics and it will all be funny.” Armour explained the comedy runs the gamut from slapstick to gags to pratfall which will aid in making it so accessible. “This is simple laughter,” he said. “It’s not going to be too heavy a show. It’s very alive, very in the moment.” The play will also feature audience participation, however Armour said that no one needs to worry. “No one is going to get hurt,” Armour said, though some of the cast laughed and clarified that no audience members would be hurt. It’s been part of our lives for years,” Lee said. There were times over the weekend though, he said, that he stopped and couldn’t help but be amused by how far-reaching the event has become. In one of the amateur classes, he said, he presented the top three awards to a rider from Nova Scotia, a rider from British Columbia and a rider from Ontario. In seeing those three riders on the podium, he said, he couldn’t help but be impressed by the national impact of the event. Another one of those moments was during the Kissel concert. He said that as he watched Kissel perform for thousands of fans, he was happy with the transformation of the property. “Fifty weeks a year, this is a farm, but for two weeks a year it becomes something else,” Lee said. “One night there is a country star on the stage, the next day it’s hosting the best races in the country. It’s funny.” While the TransCan may be in the books for another year, the Walton Raceway’s season is far from over. Lee says there are still a handful of motocross events yet to take place, in addition to remote-controlled car races, a mud bog and various team- building exercises at the Challenge Course before the raceway shuts down for the winter.
