The food required needed to be ordered and then picked up and sorted, boxed and put into freezers. Utensils, pots and pans, trays, pails, paper products, etc. Everything takes time to organize and get ready for the big move to the ball park. The big blue shack has to be cleaned and moved to the park. A small army manages to get the job done and be ready for the weekend’s work. The set-up shift, the nine working shifts and the clean-up shift were all handled by about 30 volunteer members of the Branch – a good job by all. The Saturday afternoon euchre had 10 tables of happy players. Winners were: first, Hazel McGonigle and Janet Davies, 83; second, Murray Forbes and Hank Johnston, 74; third, Olave Little and Marion Harrison, 73; lone hands, Betty Thompson and Liz Balser; low, Betty Thompson and Dianne McGuire.
