A new take on gospel
The Blyth and District Community Centre and adjoining campground were hopping all
weekend with the tunes of the Barn Dance Jamboree camp-out event. Sunday morning was
no exception as the Peace River Band took to the stage for the annual Sunday morning
gospel show for a full house, shown above. (Jasmine deBoer photo)

Landfill closure planned
Huron East Mayor Bernie
MacLellan and Deputy-Mayor Joe
Steffler have been appointed to the
Mid-Huron Landfill Committee and
will help oversee its eventual
closure.
In a memorandum of
understanding that came to Huron
East Council at its May 5 meeting,
the Huron East representatives were
asked to sign the document
alongside the Town of Goderich and
the Municipality of Central Huron.
The committee has been formed in

scheduled to close in late 2016 or
early 2017.
In Chief Administrative Officer
Brad Knight’s report, he said it is
anticipated that the committee will
include two elected representatives
from all three municipalities.
