Chad Mann ~ 519-357-3015 www.kruzinmannlimos.com Fire safety According to Fire Prevention Officer James Marshall, who works for both Morris-Turnberry and North Huron, residential fires are most often caused by cooking incidents. One such incident occurred in Belgrave on Friday when a kitchen fire was reported to the Fire Department of North Huron, which was able to contain the fire to the kitchen area. (Denny Scott photo) Morris-Turnberry Mayor Paul Gowing challenged the rest of his council to donate part or all of their election deposit to the North Huron Community Food Share. Following a presentation by the Food Share’s Gord Kaster, Gowing said he has his deposit sitting at home and that some of it will go to the Food Share. Following the presentation at Morris-Turnberry’s March 31 council meeting, Gowing challenged the rest of council to do the same. *** The Belgrave water system reports were received by Morris-Turnberry Council during its March 31 meeting and they indicate everything is fine. The report indicated there were no adverse water quality indicators in 2014 and no boil water notices or advisories. Mayor Paul Gowing said that the report was a good sign. *** Morris-Turnberry Council, during an upcoming meeting, will be discussing its stance on upgrading roads at the request of ratepayers. After a presentation regarding a proposed gravel pit in which the owners of the pit requested that a road be brought up to standard so the pit could operate, council found itself divided on the issue. While no council members suggested paying for the road, many did suggest discussing the issue. Councillor John Smuck said he felt that, like any other road, the cost should be borne by those benefitting from the upgrades. Gowing challenges council to donate BUY? SELL? TRY CLASSIFIED
