Your treasure!
(J. C. Ryle,“The Gospel of Luke” 1858)
“Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.”
Luke 12:34
Let us see whether we have treasure in heaven, or whether all our good things are
here upon earth.
Would we know what our treasure is?
Let us ask ourselves what we love most.
This is the true test of character.
It matters little...what we say, or what we profess, or what preaching we admire,
or what place of worship we attend.
What do we love?
On what are our affections set?
This is the great question.
“Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.”
Luke 12:34

Streetfest committee announces Kiss the Pig roster
The lips that will be on the line for
the Blyth Streetfest’s annual Kiss
the Pig fundraiser have been set.
North Huron Councillor Bill
Knott, Blyth Canadian Imperial
Bank of Commerce (CIBC) Branch
CSR Susie Elliott and The Citizen
Editor Shawn Loughlin have all
volunteered to pucker up and
potentially kiss a pig’s front or rear
end in hopes of raising money for
the Blyth Business Improvement
Area (BIA).
The Streetfest committee also
announced its composition, which
had not yet been decided prior to its
meeting earlier this month.
Lorna Fraser is Chair, Sharon
Davis is Secretary and Irene Kellins
is the liaison to the BIA. The
committee’s members also include
Cat O’Donnell and Scott Ramsay of
the Wonky Frog Studio, Vicky
Bremner, Amanda Bergsma and
Ashleigh Scott.
Fraser said the group is very
excited to release the names of the
Kiss the Pig contestants and that
donation jars will soon be located
around the community.
Pucker up!
The Blyth Streetfest Committee, which was recently officially struck and identified as part of
the Blyth Business Improvement Association (BIA), released the competitors for the 2015 Kiss
the Pig Fundraiser for the July 25 event. Jars will be placed at local businesses for people to
vote, through donations, for the person they want to kiss the pig. The competitors are, from left,

In a recent Citizen article
regarding the greenspaces and
gardens around Blyth, certain lands
and their caretakers were incorrectly
identified.
According to Anne Elliott,
president of the now-disbanded
Blyth Horticultural Society, the
North Garden, around the Blyth
sign, is maintained by private
citizens, not the Blyth Horticultural
Society.
The story reported that several
sites were maintained by the
Communities in Bloom Committee,
however, that committee no longer
exists. As such, the Memory Garden
and the hanging plants in the village
and planters on the bridge on Queen
Street are both maintained by private
individuals.
The flag pole at the south of the
village was donated by Grant
Sparling Sr. and the garden around it
was built and originally maintained
by the now-disbanded Communities
in Bloom committee, but it is
now maintained by private
individuals.
The Citizen apologizes for
any inconvenience caused by
the errors.
