The members decided to eli-
minate the Women's Work (knit-
ting and sewing) branch of the
association as wool socks are
no longer required by the On-
tario Red Cross and very few
volunteers are available to sew
any of the clothes desired for
tropical countries. All workers
who preSently have knitting and
sewing on hand were requested
to turn it in as soon as possible.
During the coming year the
Seaforth Red Cross will con-
centrate on the Financial Drive
in march, the Blood Donor Cli-
nic in the autumn and the lending
of wheel chairs, crutches, etc.
to those who require them.
The Secretary's annual re-
port listed the activities of the
Association during 1969: Seven
regular meetings and the an-
nual meeting were held: the drive
for funds in March produced
$1,294,50, At the March meeting
an Award of Merit was pre-
sented to the retiring president
Mrs. W.` E, Butt for her many
years of, service as president
and formerly as treasurer.
Four members attended the
annual, meeting of the Ontario
Division of the Red Cross which
was held in Sa,rnia, April 17th
and 18th.
The Blood Donor Clinic held
in September was the most suc-
cessful in recent years with 116
donors.
Twelve thousand cod liver
oil capsules were purchased for
the Public Health Nurse.'
Swimming awards given at
;the Liens park were paid for
'by the Branch.
Articles on loan during the,
4 year included 8 pairs cg itches,
2 wheel chairs, and 3 walkers.
'. In December,4 45 pairs of
:socks knitted by Members were
;given to the fluron County Chil-
dren's Aid Society and 2i),pairs
omen's socks were given to -ve-
terans at Westminster „Hospital

The December meeting of
East Wawanosh Council was held
in -the Belgrave Community:-
Centre with Reeve Roy Pattison
presiding.
Motions adopted included; that .
James Walsh be appointed to be
in charge and--see that agreement
4, made previously with ratepayers
on Lots 42, Conc, 2, re. drains
is attended to.
That a grant of $50.00 be
given to the Blyth Municipal Re-
creation Committee.
That East Wawanosh accept
their share' of the cost re. the
purchasing of a new fire truck
and equipment to serve the Wing-
ham Rural Fire Area.
That Council meet on De-
cember 15th, 1969, for the an-
nual meeting.
Accounts approved included:
Roads - $7,489.63; General -
$19,960.08 (of which $17,755 is
school debenture).
Grand Prize - Trip To Bermuda for Two -
Second Prize - $100.00 Cash - 8 additional prizes of $25.00 Cash
