DUBLIN AND - SEAFORTH CUSTOMERS
About Your: Telephone Directories
Your London-Goderich Telephone Directory was re-
cently distributed to all Seaforth Bell Canada customers, as
well as Seaforth, Clinton, Hensall and Hayfield customers' of
the Tuckersinith Municipal Telephone System.
Seaforth cab call Dublin and Dublin can call Seaforth
Without charge. This entitles Dublin customers to a Directory
containing Seaforth listings, and' Seaforth customers to a
Stratford Directory containing Dublin listings.
Dublin customers may obtain the London-Goderich
Directory by calling our Business Office 1-271.3911 (no toll
charge).
Svforth customers will 'be provided with the Strat-
ford'Directory containing the listings for ail Dublin custom-
ers early in December.
Yes, it means two books to accommodate both exchan-
ges. These books also contain listings for other exchanges.
Many other exchanges in Bell Canada an$1 Independent Com-
pany areas have similar listing arrangements where Toll
Free Service is provided between exchanges. t
So, Dublin customers, if you need the Sehforth listings,
call our ,Business Office for a copy of the' London-Goderich
Dii*tory. Seaforth customers will receive the Stratford Dir-
ectory oritaining Dublin listings early in 'December.
here's a little gem of trivia from south of the border.
By the end of 1969, 3,000,000,000,000 (that's three trillion)
telephone conversations will have been completed in the
Unite' States. The total is a tabulation of calls made since
1880 when Alexander Graham Bell first offered telephone
service to the public. 4 And srkaking of Mr. Bell, I came across a statement
he once made which I think some of you might• find interest-
ing. He said: "When one door closes another opens but we
often look so long 'and so regretfully ,upon -the closed door
that we do not see the ohe which haS kpelled for us".,

Finally a few Bell Canada facts. Last year we had 5,451,-
000 phones in Service In our operating territory -- Ontario,
Quebec, Labrador and parts of the Northwest Territories. In
the same year, our customers originated some 10 billion le-
Cal calls and 243 million Long Distance calls. Bell Canada ,is
I one of the nation's largest taxpayers and the largest taxpay-
er in most of "the 'communities Iii which we operate. More
than 197 per cent of all our equipmanl and material is pro-
duced in Canada by ourselves and by some 5,000 other
Canadian suppliers.
