Board of 'Education reconsidered
the student fees policy laid
down on a' previoris occasion,
and 'approved a much lower
scale for non-resident pupils at
its meeting in Central Huron
Secondary School, CIMton,MOri-•
.day evening.
The Board adopted a recom-
mendation of the committee of
the whole that - the fees for
non-resident pripils, whose. fees
are not payable by another.
Board or equivalent- be estab-
lished at $100 per year for
elementary grades (including
iiiiiiiiiii)i and $200. per
,,year for secondary grades,..,.•

$900. annual fee for non-resid-
vent pupils attending the second-
ary schools of Huron County
arose at the, previous meeting of
the Board when D.J.Murphy,.
Goderich, mentioned that two
or three hockey players were
being - imported- from New
Brunswick and the hockey -club
in Goderich 'could not afford 'to
•" pay the -shot- required by the
Board.
There also was' another case
of a student moving from anoth-
er pity to live with her grand-
parents in Goderich.
It was pointed out that there
are very few cases such as this.
The Board has accepted the
resignation of Mrs. C. Porter
from the staff of Victoria Public
School, Goderich, effective Dec-
ember 31, 1969; and the. resig-
nation of Mr. arid Mrs. R.S.Davis

• Mrs. Virginia Doyle was hired
as clerk-typist ,(accounting).
'Scale of renumeration for part-
time teaching assistants in the
Occupations Course at a rate of
$24. per diem, was established.
Complaints dealt with and
settled were one .on the operat-
ion of one of the contracted
buses; another on salary froni one
of the employees,an a third on
the suspension of pupil from
the F.E.Madill Secondary School,
Wingham. No names were divulged
in the open Board meeting. .
