Meets
.2The October meeting of the
Ladies Aid of First Presbyterian
Church was held in the Centen-
nial room when the Agar- Gale-
man group were in charge. A
moment of silence was observed
....in memory of the late Mrs.James
Aitcheson. To open the meeting
Mrs. James Keyes read a poem
written by an unknown soldier.
The hymns for the day were ,
chosen by Miss Marian Grey. Mrs.
Harold Agar gave the scripture
and prayer; Mrs. .Wilfred Cole:
man read a poem which had
been published in the Beacon-
Herald and was written for St.
James Church in Stratford. Mrs.
k;a1 Whyte read the minutes and
Miss Jean Scott gave the treasui-
er's report in the absence afMrs.

Clare McGowan, Goderich, re-
garding the Children's Aid So-
ciety was read. 45 calls were
made on the shut-ins. It was
decided that a charge of 25 cents
be made at the door on the day
of the bazaar. Other'arrange-
ments were made for the bazaar
which is being held on November
1st. Miss Jennie Hogg gave ac
interesting talk on the origin of
"Thanksgiving Day". She chose
as her theme the words from the
106th Psalm "0 Give Thanks
unto the Lord, for He is Good".
" Mrs. Margaret Messenger
thanked the speaker on behalf of
the group and after a hymn had
been sung, a social hour was

pose" put out by the United
Church and "Who, me an, Ev-
angelist?"
Mrs. Walter Bewley presided
for the business part opening
with prayer. The minutes of
the last meeting were read by
Mrs. Allan McColl. The 17th
and Boundary Unit will be in
charge of flowers for October
and the Regional Meeting Oct-
ober 11th in Duff's United Churcl
The C. G .1. T. banquet will
be held Oct. 21 in the church
basement.
