INTERTOWN
Despite the fact that Sea-
forth had seven bowlers on hand
Sunday when they met Goderich,
the local team failgd to win
more than one game. '
The Goderich team, led by
Heinz Sartori, who rolled a
1396 total for five games, bow-
led consistant games of IMO to
come out on top of the five
game match.
Seaforth squeezed out the
second game by a narrow mar-
gin with a 1219 total.
High man on the Seafdrth
team was Eric Matzold, for the
third 'straight week. He had a
total of 1137 with games of 176,
358, 198, 231, 184.
Other scores were Roger Ben-
newies, 173, 220, 180, 2"72,

,Siftos either. St. Mary's, Suath-
roy and Stratford all were mem-

year with the Siftos.
At a recent meeting in Strat-
ford, the teams agreed to play a
40-game schedule, with. the top
four teams competing in, best of.
seven playoffs at the conclusion
of the regular schedule. Most of
the Siftos home games will
again be'on Friday•nights. The
schedule will begin approximat-
ely October 15.
The Siftps,will open their
training camp on Friday,;Oct-
oberS. Manager Jim Wilkinson
has been busy negotiating with
several promising prospects who,
he, hopes, will bolster the club
sufficiently to improve on last
year's perfermance.Which saw
the Siftos finith"in -the cellar.
The Siftos are expected to
name a new coach this week.

The Mitchell Junior's" D" club,
whom we mentioned last week,
have engaged Lou Heinbuck to
replace Boll Zimmer as Ceach of
the teatn, Mr. Zimmer. has been
engaged to coach the Stratford
Warriors.
Mr. Heinbuck is familiar to
local hockey fans as he was for
many years a referee with the
pHA and officiated 'at many of
the Seaforth Beaver, games.
The,-Mitchell Club is solicit-
ing in the area for hockey play-
ers and have placed an advertise-
04 ment in this issue.

Another Weal entry in, the
Junior "Em circuit is the Exeter
Hawks. The Hawks, previously
4 a Junior "Cr team are expected
to be grouped with Mitchell,
Lambeth, Lucan, Belmont and
Zurich.
Incidentally some of last
years Hawks have been working
out Toronto Marlboros and Kit-
! chener Rangers, of the Junior "A"
league. Also some are trying
out on area Junior "B" squads.

for the harness races at the Sea-
forth Fall Fair on Friday.

stand and lined the fences to
watch the two classified paces.
In the A classified for a purse
of $200. , Argyle Fanny, driven
and owned by Ben Rattle of Kin-
' cardine, placed first, complet-
ing the mile race in a time of
2:12.1.
Meadow Harvester, owned by
Mr. and Mrs. W. Bennett of
Seaforth and driven by Bill Ben-
nett finished second.

Exeter is expected to be one
of the powerhouses of the con-
ference again this year, and
the way the Golden Bears are
playing right now, it should
make quite a contest.
Goderich was also picked to ,
be a powerhouse, but they suf-
fered a 12-0 setback at the
hands of Sarnia Central in ex-
hihition play last week.
