ich, to John Robert McLachlan,
Bracebridge, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert McLachlan, R. R. #3,
Kippen, took place in North.
Street United Church, Goderich,
on August 30, 1969 at 7 y. m.

The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor-
length gown fashioned fromla-
goda, styled with high neckline
which had lace inset, guipure .

cented by small bows. Similar
lace edged the chapel- length
train sweeping from waistline.
The shoulder-length veil w as
held by a three tier bow 9 f
guipure lace. She carried a .bou-
quer of yellow roses accented
'by sprigsof purple heather . and
pale green ribbons.
Mrs. James Papple, Seaforth,
was matron of honor and the
bridesmaids were Mrs. Frank
Mc Cowan, sister of the bride,
Guelph and Miss Lois McLachlan.

They were dressed alike in mint
green crepe, floor length, em-
pire style dresses with daisy trim.
The bouffant short sleeves were
gathered in with bows. Their
headpieces were of yellow shasta
daisies and they. carried cascade
bouquets of yellow shasta daisies
and heather, Miss Sandra Day,
niece of the bride, North Bay,
was the flower girl wearing a
yellow floor-length dress, em -
pire style, trimmed with daisies.
She carried a 'basket of yellow
daisies and heather. M as ter
Douglas Blaine, nephew of the
.groom, Woodham, was t h e
ringbearer.
James Papple, Seaforth, was
the best man and the guests
were ushered by Frank McCowan,
brother-in-law of the bride,
Guelph and Glen McLachlan,
brother'of the groom, Kippen,
Mts. Murray Hetherington,
Goderich, organist, played tra-
ditional wedding music and ac-
companied the soloist, Miss
Connie Rae, St. Pauls, when she
sang " Wedding Prayer" a n d
"Hymn of Thanksgiving" to
the tune of Edelweiss.
A, reception was held At the
Legion Hall, Seaforth.
For a wedding trip to Nia-
gara Falls and district, the bride
wore .a nile green and .cream'
coat dress ensemble with black
accessories and corsage of White
carnations.
The couple will reside in
Bracebridge, where the groorri is
on the staff of the Toronto-
Dominion Bank.
'Prior to her marriage, the
bride was honored by several
showers which included: a
shower party_by die staff of the
Perth County Health Unit at the
home of Miss Trudy Sapwell,_
Stratford; a shower by former
neighbours at the home of Mrs.
John Baan, Walton and a family
dinner and shower at the home
of the groom's sister, Mrs. Gerry
Blaine, Woodhaxn, Ont.
OBITUARY
RALPH D. SMITH
The death occurred Septem-
ber 9, 1969 at Pontiac,', Mich.
of Ralph D. Smith, age 66,
formerly of Seaforth, Ontario,
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
L. Smith of Seaforth.
The late Mr. Smith is sur-
vived by his wife, Leotta, also
by two sons, two daughters and
four grandchildren. A sister Mrs.
Agnes Hunter of Toronto and a
brother Glen of Seaforth also
survive.
Mr. 'Smith grew up in Seaforth
where he attended school and
learned barbering with John Pul-
lman under the late Walter Rob-
inson.
Funeral services were held at
Pontiac on Friday, September
12. Interment followed in Cres-
cent Hills Cemetery.

present. Mrs. Ross Chapman
opened the meeting. Mrs, Norman
Walker read a poem entitled,
"Reap what we Sow". Mrs. Norris
Sillery „read the scripture, Math-
ew 7. Mrs. Chapman took as
her theme "Reward of Work to
Mankind". Mrs. Mary Haugh
spoke on the need for foster
homes for "To-day's Child".
Curing business it was decid-
ed to hold an auction sale at
Mrs. Haugh's in October and in-
vite other units. The October
meeting will be one week earlier
at the home 'of Mrs. Erwin Sil-
lery.
THE HAPPY CITIZENS
The Happy Citizens held a
euchre in the Legion Hall, Thurs-
day afternoon. The winners were
