When you buy your basket of pears, whether the early or win- ter types, go over them and se- lect the ripest ones for immed- iate use. These should be placed In the refrigerator. The slightly underripe ones are best kept at room temperature until they reach their peak of sweetness, then refrigerated. QUESTION: Dear Sir: Must I stop for Stop signs when theNrs WER:oad is under construction? A A Stop sign is a Stop sign and means the same at 4 o'clock in the morning] as it does at 4 o'cl- ock in' the afternoon whether the road is under construction or not. The signs are placed there by ,re- gulation made under an order in council which is what makes the signs legal. I hhve heard people say that they have received a • ticket for disobeying stop signs and the only car on the road was a police car and they didn't see him until he stopped them. The amount of traffic or the time of day has nothing to do with wheth- er you stop or not.
