Ure Stewart has completed his-duties as pulpit supply and Pastoral visitor dur- ing the month of August for Main Street United Church, Mitchell, which has been hold- ing union services for the sum- mer months with Knox Presby- - terian church. Mrs. Stewart accompanied him in his work. Labor Day visitors at tile residence of Rev. J. Ure and Mrs. Stewart were the former's daughter, Mrs. Alvin Hammond and her husband of Moorefield with their daughter, Mrs. Charles Terry and daughter, Debbie, of Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs. John Best with daughters, Leslie and Shirley, were visitors last week at the home of Rev. and Mrs. J. Ure Stewart. Mrs. Sarah McIver and Miss Catherine Lynch spent last week in Kitchener visiting Mr. and Mrs. Edward McIver and family. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Arm- strong of St. Catherines were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jackson. Mr. Craig Sherwood and friend of Montreal were•reAent guests of his aunt, Mrs. E. P. Chesney in Tuckersmith. Mrs. Urie of Oakville, Mr. and Mrs. James Eassun, Stratford, Mrs. Wilbur Chambers, Wingham, Mr. Raymond Chambers, Preston and Mrs. Almira Chambers of Preston were here last week at- tending the funeral of the late Hiram Shannon. Mr. and Kits-. Geo. Scofield of Clearwater, Florida spent-the past week with Mr. and Mrs. James Souter. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fowler arrived home from visiting their daughters, Miss Carol Bawler. of Minneapolis and Mr. and Mrs. Art Carter and family and rel- atives at Winnipeg. Miss Mabel E. Turnbull vis- ited at "Schadeview" L. Huron last week. After spending two months in Seaforth Community Hospital, Mrs. Ada Dale left on Thursday to,spend two weeks with h er daughter, Mrs. Del Krauel and Mr. Krauel of Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Johnson and family have returned after spending some time in England with Mrs. Johnson 's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Geo, Powell have moved from the Royal Apartments to the home owned by Mrs. Angus McQuaig. Mrs. Ross McGregor, Mrs. W. E. Butt and Miss Mae Smith have returned after spending three weeks on a conducted tour to the Pacific Coast. Mr. and Mrs, Robert J. Pryce and son of Ailsa Claig visited on the holiday week end with. the former's mother, Mrs. Beth Pryce in Toronto and also with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon L Pryce and family of R. R. #2, Walton. Mr. and Mrs. E. Marshall spent their holidays visiting in Midland and Algonquin Park. Mrs. Bessie Worm spent the week end with her daughter, Mrs, J. G. Commer ford. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wilson and family of Toronto are spend- ing some time with his parenti, Mr, and Mrs. D. H. Wilson. Mr. Chas. Ross of Toronto is a guest of his sister, Mrs. Jn .o. Byermann. Mr. and Mrs, Frank Cudmore of Wallaceburg spent a few days with Miss Hazel Reid., MARTYN-TEMPLEMAN Candelabra and baskets of white gladioli and pink dablias formed the background for the marriage in Cromartir Presby- terian Church on Saturday, Aug- ust 16 at 3 p. m. of Fay Irene Templeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Templeman, R. R. #2, Staffa, to Ronald Dale Martyn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martyn, R. R. #1, Mitchell. Rev. Wilfrid Jarvis officiated at the' double ring ceremony. Miss Brenda Kerslake furnished the wedding music and accom- panied the soloist, Miss Joanne Templeman, sister of the bride, who sang"The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's My Shepherd". Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a gown of white bridal satin with a chantilly lace bodice an d scalloped sleeves. A detatch- able chappel , train of chantilly lace fell from her shoulders. Her shoulder length petal veil of silk illusion was held in place with a tiarra of crystals and baby pearls: She 'carried a cascade of white mums centred with an orchid. -- Miss Sharon Knott, Kitchen- er, friend of the bride, was maid of honour and flower girl was Barbara Lynn Templeman, sister of the bride. They were gowned identical in floor length gowns of deep pink peau de soic.' The empire waists accented by a band of white velvet, which tied in the back and fell in streamers. They wore matching flowers in their hair and carried baskets of white daisies and heather. Tuckersmith requests that the owners retrict the use of the Town- ship water to necesary household uses, as the systerh is unable to supply the heavy demand during the present dry period.
