In- vestigations have indicated that a great number of criminals , practice several variations of this scheme. While there have been some arrests, prosec ution is difficult because the "' voice on the telephone" ca.nno be identified, and the "pic k-up man" appears only for i 1 few moments at the elderl) i person's door.
