HLRAM SHANNON
•
Hiram Shannon, 64, died in
the Seaforth Community Hos-
pital, Sunday.
Mr. Shannon was born in
McKillop, the son of the late
John Shannon and Almira Blan-
chard, For,a number of years
he farmed in McKillop until
1940 when he moved to Seaford'
A welder by trade he continued
as long as health permitted, °re-
tiring in 1965.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Helen Alexander to
whom he was married in Duffs
Church, McKillop in 1928 and
four daughters, Mrs. Robert
(Audrey) Morey, Lindsay; Mrs.
William (Eleanor) Andrew, God-
erich, Mrs, John (Elizabeth)
Schwartz, Goderich; Mrs. Don-
ald (Isabel) Schelleoberger, Mit-
chell; two sisters, Mrs. James
(Hazel) Urie, Oakville; Mrs. G.
(Almira) Chambers, Preston and
13 grandchildren. He was a
member of Northsicle United
(lurch.
The body was at the R. S.
Box Funeral Home, Seaforth,
until Wednesday when a funeral
service was conducted. at 2 p. in.
by Rev. J. Ure Stewart. Burial
was in Maitlandbank Cemetery,
pallbearers being, Lucien Hem-
berger, Wilbur Chambers, Ray-
mond Chambers, Elston Haist,
George Love and Frank Smale.
Flowerbearers were John Urie
John Chambers, Michael AndreW
and Douglas Morey.

tertained ten ladies to an after-
noon tea on the lawn at her
home Monday afternoon in hon-

munity Hospital for over a week.

from a trip out West with Mr.

Lloydminster, Sask. Mrs. Hess
visited with relatives and also
at Regina, Sask. where she
enjoyed visits with her four sis-
ters and a brother. The trip by
car was most enjoyable.

of Cooksville called on,
Mrs. Leona Parke this week.
Mrs. R. M. Peck recently
vacationed for two weeks with
relatives in Kingsville.

week at Sandfield on Manitoulin
Island and visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Doug. Dick, Terry and 13ry

Jayne Sturgeon, Bayfield.
