Interest is calculated and credited to your ac- count semkannually. For shorter terms your deposit earns 7% per annum. For under one year, minimum deposit required is $5,000. 7r Income Deposit Certificates Minimum is X51,000 but you can place higher amounts in multiples of $100. Interest is paid quar- terly at a basic 6 1/4 % rate plus bonuses to ,give you an annual yield of 7 1,4% over five years. 6/: True Savings Account This is strictly for saving. No cheOliet, but you can withdraw your money at any time and, on your instructions, the Bank will make transfers to your chequing account at no cost. Interest is based on your minimum monthly balance and credited to your account twice a year. 37° Chequable Savings Account This is a savings 'atctiunt on which you can write cheques. Mrs. Elma Jewitt held a family gathering on Thursday evening, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Jackie_lewitt of Beaver Lodge, Alberta, who stopped for a short visit en route to Montreal, David Medd and Larry Snell of Londesboro spent the weekend camping at Elora. Mrs. Elma J,ewitt and Brian spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Glew of Dorchester. Miss Doreen Riley of Stratford spent the weekend 'with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ben Riley and family. W. ,Spurri, Mrs. A. Y. McLean of Seaforth is a daughter. Ernest Whitman Spurr. well^ knowriretired manager of the Bank of Commerce died unexp- ectedly on Sunday August 10th, Mr. Spurr was on a picnic at Big Island when fatally stricken, He was 83. years old and was born at Cavendish, P. E. 1. , a son of the late Rev. John and Nancy (Whitman) Spurr. Mr. Spurr was a graduate of Prince of Wales College in, Charlertetown and later attended Acadia University, Wolfville. He began his banking career in Windsor, N. S. with the Bank of Commerce in which he continued to advance and spent the last 20 years of his business life at the New Glasgow branch , from which he retired as manager in 1946. He was a member of First Baptist Church, New Glasgow, and always was an active worker in the Boy Scout movement. Mr. Spurr was the last survi- ving member of his parents family. Besides his wife, the former Thelma Goulding of Ontario, he is survived by two daughters, • Winifred ( Mrs. A. Y. McLean) Seaforth, Ontario, and Letty ,( Mrs. V. M. Sapella), Ottawa. two sons, J.
