Yellow Carnations, shasta
Daisies, baby's breath and
candelabra graced the ,St.. Peter
Lutheran Church, Brodhagen on
July 26th when Dianne Lynn
Beuerman became the bride of
Robert Charles Ahrens of Burlin-
gton. ,The bride is the daughter
'of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Beuermart
of "3eaforth and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Ahrens of Brodhagen
Rev. Harry Lossing of Brod-
hagen officiated at the double
ring ceremony. Rev. Eric Sch-
ultz of Waterloo played "Pur r'
cell's Trumpet Voluntary" and
also traditional wedding music.
The bride, given in Marriage,
by her father, wore a formal
gown of silk tissue taffeta trim-
med with chantilly jewelled
lace. The design of the gown
was fashioned in a traditional '
shallow scooped neckline and
appliqued chantilly lace with
seed pearls, the same carried
out on the elbow length sleeves.
A detachable lace edged train
was hooked onto the waist orthe
gown with two dainty bows, A
four tierred scalloped silk illus-
ion veil was draped trom a
cluster of fabric flowers. She
carried a boquet of yellow roses
and stephanotis with myrtle and
baby's breath. •
Miss Ann McCartney of St.'
Thomas was the maid of honor
and Miss Susan Beuerman of
Seaforth and Mrs. Dee Beuerman
of London 'were bridesmaids.
They were gowned alike in
empire styled formal gowns of
lime twist saky cotton that were
fashioned with a high neckline.
The sheath skirt was' accented
by a frilled hemline. White
shasta daisies formed the head-
piece and also highlighted the
•
boquet of baby's breath and
yellow roses.
Clayton Ahrens of Toronto
was the groomsman and guests
were ushered by Kenneth Ahrens
of Burlingttinand Larry Beuerman
of London. r
Seaforth Community Centre
was decorated with'White,shasta
daiiies and yellow roses for the
reception following the cerem-
ony. The mother of the bride
received guests in an ensemble
of yellow cotton lace with match-
ing hat and s'.Poes and white
accessories. A corsage of yellow
sweetheart roses and stephanotis
completed her outfit. The
groom's mother assisted in an
ensemble of blue shantung with
navy accessories anda corsage
of white sweetheart roses and
stephanotis.
For a wedding trip •id the
West coast the bride chose a'
dress of pink chiffon accented
with ruffles on the-bodice with
the same carried out on the
wrist length sleeves. A white
gardenia and 'pink and white •
accessories completed her out-
fit.
On their return they will
reside in La Salle• Towers, Burl-
ington.
Guests were preseni'from St.
Thomas, Burlington, Hamilton,
Toronto, London and many other
places.
Prior to her wedding showers
for the bride were held by Mrs.
Garry Betties and Mrs. Gerry
Cooper of Seaforth. Miss Ann
McCartney of St. Thomas was
hostess for another. A prenuptial
dinner party was given by Mrs.
Lil Kerslake at her cottage in
Bayfield and following the
rehearsal the groom's parents
entertained' the bridal party at
their home.
van den AKKER-
Marriage vows were exchan-
ged by Arlene Williamson and
Bessel (Ben) van den Akker on
Saturday, August 2nd. at Duff's
United Church, Walton, with
Rev. D. Docken officiating.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jarries Williamson
R. R. #3, Walton and the'groom
is the son of Mt. and Mrs. Bessel
van den Akker of St. Thomas.—
Boquets Of pink gladiolas and
white mums decorated the
church. Mrs. Ian Wilbee accom-
panied Mrs. Bruce Whitmore as
she-sang "The Wedding Prayer"
"The Lord's Prayer" and "Like
the Meeting of the Waters".
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, looked stunning "
in a floor-length gown of organza
over taffeta. A small stand-up
collar accented the neckline.
The fitted empire style yoke and
waistline were highlighted with
guipure lace as were the short
puffed sleeves. The skirt was
softley gathered. Matching lace
also addorned the cathedral
length veil held by an open
wedding ring headdress. She
carried a cascade of pink roses.
Mrs. Donald Reichheld, •
Selkirk, was the maid of honor
and the bridesmaides were Mrs.
Walter Anderson, Cooksville,
cousin of the bride, Miss F.andra
Gray., Dublin, Cousin of the
bride, Miss Betty Wolfkamp,
Mitchell, cousin of the groom
and as junior bddesmaid, Miss

in sleeveless floor length dresses
of hot pink fortrel puffrriate.'
They featured a fitted empire
style yoke with hot, pink velvet
trim and a rounded neckline.
The skirt was softly gathered
similar to the bride's. A short
pink veil was held by a pink
ribbon.in front.
Best man was Bernie Mitchell
of Dorchester. Ushering guests
were Lee Fleming of Carlisle,
Jim Sills of Seaforth, Keith
Williamson, of Walton, brother
of the bride, and as junior usher
Tony van den Akker of St. t•
Thomas, brother of the groom.
The couple left following a
reception in the church, for a
wedding trip to Northern 'Ontario
and Quebec. The bride wearing
an empire styled sleeveless dress
with white bodice and soft pink
A-line skirt with white access-.
ones,
Mr. and Mrs. van den Akker
will reside in London.
Guests were present from
London, Stratford,- Owen Sound,
St. Catherines, St. Thomas,
Cooksville, Woodbridge and
local points.
Showers were given by Mrs.
John Patterson, Jr, , in Seafoth,
by Mrs. Bernie Mitchell in
Dorchester, by the staff at Huron
Heights Public School in London
and friena. and neighbors in
Walton and friends in Stratford.

Rev, J. C. Britton officiated
in a lovely setting of candelabra,
white mums and yellow gladiolas.
The bride given in marriage
by her uncle, Mr. Robert
McMillan, wore a gown and
matching coat of silk lagoda
crepe. The sleeveless gown
was styled with empire bodice
and a gentle A-line skirt. The
high manderin neckline and
empire bodice were finished
with an overlay of ifnported
hand crocheted Viennese lace.
The matching full length coat
featured frill side slits topped by
a self bow and swept gracefully
into a cathedral train. Clusters
of hand embroidered applique
dotted the hemline. The elbow
sleeve and neckline were finished
with matching Viennese lace
trim. She carried a white
orchid and steppanotis

guests were ushered by Mr.
Terry Watson, MOntreal, and
Mr. Ron Tryon, Bancroft.
Soloist was Mr. James
Stewart..accompanied by Mrs.
James Stewart. He sang "The
Lord's Prayer" and "The Voice
That Breathed O'er Eden".
Following a reception held
in the church parlour the bride
and groom left for a wedding
trip to Niagara Falls. For
travelling the bride chose a
green linen dress with matching
green and white sleeveless
coat and white accessories.
Guests were present from
Montreal, Toronto, Bancroft,
Brantford, London and Seaforth.
