HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1969-08-21, Page 5the summer months she has been
staying right in St. Thomas for
further studies. During the week-;
ends Pauline has been skating at •
Galt and at Briarwood, in Sarnia.
For the past two winters, Paul-
inehas been senior amateur
coach for figure skating clubs at
Zurich, Huron Park, and St.
Thomas. She has thrilled
crowds at the Zurich arena on
both the occasion of,the official,
opening and at a skating carni-
val this past winter. Along with
her younger sister, Troyann, who
holds three bronze medals, she
has skated as a pair.
A graduatecsq,..14th Hensall
Public School and Clinton High
School, Pauline first started
walking the length of the arena
on both skates at the age of 17
months. That same winter s_he
won prizes at area arenas for
-the youngest skater on the ice.
Now Pauline uses two pairs of
skates, one for free style and
dance and the other for figures.
The blades have to be sent to
Toronto for special grinding.
The boots are made to measure
'and need to be replaced every
year.
Recently she was presented
with a gift and corsage by the
Figure Skating School at the
Pop Concert in St. Thomas.
