MRS. KEN ELLIGSEN
Mrs. Edward Scher barth',- Sr. ,
received word recently of the
death of her sister, Mrs. Lloyd
McLean, Elbow, Sask. She was
the former Rachael Eggert. The
sympathy of the Community is
extended to the family.
Miss Jane Rock returned to
the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Edwin Rock, having
been in Southern France where
she taught English this past year.
In the Fall, Jane will be going
to Dalhousie University at Hal-
ifax, Nava Scotia to achieve
her M. A. in French. She was'
given a $3, 000. Fellowship
Award towards this degree.
Vacation (lurch School was
held at St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, from July 14th - 18th
with an average of 96 in attend-
ance. The theme of the lessons
yere "Jesus and the Church. "

Edgar Eiligsen were the co-ord-
inators of the church school with
the following staff of teachers,

The Thomson Reunion was
held in Hensall Park.
The youngest present was
infant baby of Mr. and Mrs.

age 92 , from Kippen who
just recently got out of hospital
being there because of an accid-
ent loading cattle.

guest of honour for a shower in
the Community Hall, Walton.
Mary Leeming was in charge of
the guest book. The mistress of
ceremonies, Mrs. Neil McGavin
presided for the following pro-
gram: Piano solo - Mary Leem-
ing; Short skit - Mrs. Harvey
Craig and Mrs. Martin Baan;
Piano solo - Beverly- Mc Call.
Contests were conducted by Mrs.
Neil McGavin and Mrs. Graeme
McDonald.
The guest of honour, Miss
Audrey McMichael, her mother,
Mrs. Robert McMichael and
Mrs-. Douglas Mills of London, a
friend of the bride-to-be, were
seated at the front of the hall
wearing corsages which had been
presented to them earlier in the
evening.
The address was read by Mrs.
Jack Bosman and Mary Leeming
and Gwen Bosman assisted with
the opening of the gifts.
Audrey thanked the ladies •
for the gifts and invited every-
one to her Trousseau Tea on
July 26.
TWILIGHT CROPS
PROGRAM
A "come as you are"twilight
crops program is planned for at
Jack Peck's farm, 12, miles west
of Kippen on Thursday evening
of next week.
The Directors of the Huron
County Soil and Crop Improve-
ment Association are inviting
everyone' who has an interest in
,field crops. There will be an
opportunity to see and discuss
the merits of various oat and
barley varieties and fertility in
these crops.
Soils and Crops Specialists
will be on hand to,.answer 'ques-
tions according to D. S. Pullen,
