Western Ontario talent hunt

summer carnival are assured of
outstanding entertainment on
each of the carnival nights.
Contestants are listed from.
Parkhill, St. Marys% Dashwood,
Milver ton, Staff a, Zurich,
• Wingham, Varna, Goderich,
Clinton, Seaforth, Dublin,
Exeter, Galt and Gowanstown
according to Bill Pinder who
heads the talent hunt com-
mittee.

ports of recent Rebekah Assem-
bly sessions held in Toronto
last week.

Henderson Al represent Edel-
weiss Lodge at an inaugural
meeting to be held in Goderich
Wednesday evening. Several
other past noble grands plan on
attending.
Progress is being made on a
quilt that is to be sold to raise
money to assist with a new
floor covering for the I. 0. 0. F.
Hall.

The carnival . which gets
underway , Thursday night con-
cludes on 'Friday night.
All contestants will appear
Thursday night and from this
number eight will be selected
for the Friday night program.
The Seaforth District High
School Girls Trumpet Band
play both evenings.
Special entertainment is ar-
ranged for each evening, and
Carters Show featuring a new
and larger ferris wheel, bingo,
penny sale and a wide choice
of games will be underway.
Friday night, too, will see

Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Forsyth, Tuck-
ersmlth, on the occasion of their
45th wedding anniversary on '
Wednesday, June 18th. The
event at the Pizza Patio a t
Goderich was arranged by Stan
Jackson and Hank Bennedyke.

ceremonies and Mr."" Jackson

34th SUMMER
PLAN LOTS OF ACTION AT LIONS CARNIVAL
Plans for the 34th annual Lions summer carnival on Thursday and Friday nights of this week
are almost complete.
Proceeds from the carnival assist in providing maintenance for the Lions Park and poUl seen
above And for the program'of swimming instriiction ,which each year is made available to sev-
eral hundred area boys and girls.

Carter rides which have been a popular feature at Lions Club carnivals for more than 20 years
will be back again with anew ferris wheel and five other rides.
