In the absence of Harvey Johnston due to illness, the meeting was chair- ed by Vice-President, Miss K. I McGregor. Mrs. G; Ginn of Goderich Branch said the names of win- ners in the, poster contest held during the winter in connection with a cancer education cam- paign were: Senior 1st prize - Marilyn Irwin, Grade 3, Wing- ham. 2nd. Prize - Elizabeth Gingerich, Grade 8, Zurich, Junior - 1st. Prize - Carolyn Per- ry; Grade 4, Exeter. 2nd, prize - Larry Burke, Grade 4, St. Marys School, Goderich, The contest involved all school students in the county. Laragh An enjoyable evening, mark- ing the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of St. James Parish and the 25th Anniversary of its pastor, Father H. Laragh, was held Sad'irday evening in the Legion. Hall, Seafortp. The celebration consisted of a Wine and Cheese Party for the adults and a Punch Bowl for the children. A decorated box was placed at the entrance for don- ations and this was presented to Father Laragh at the close of the evening, Mr. Frank Sills led a Sing-a- Long before the presentation. The evening was sponsored by the Catholic Women's League and St.James Parish so that both adults and children could congratulate Father 'Laragh. open at nine in the morning, but Mr, Pullen was notified of the error by head office of the Ont- ario Department of Agriculture. While.the 1966 'agricultural statistics list 4565 census farms, in Huron, Mr. Pullen said that there will be more than 10, 000 eligible to vote. Huron 'is has,. • ically an agricultural county, and the vote is'expected to be heavy. Every farmer, his wife and any relative over the age of 21, actively engaged in the op- eration of the farm is eligible to vote. In all,:17 polling stations haye been arranged to he set up across the county. Mr, Pullen pointed out,' however that farmers may vote at any polling station across the province providing that he has first registered and that he has not already voted.
