The general meeting of
Northside U. C.-W., was held in
the church schoolroom on Tues-
day evening.
The president, Mrs. Ribey,
welcomed members and Group
4 conducted the program with
Mrs. E. Williams presiding.
Mrs. Williams read the script-
ure lesson and a short comment-
ary and led in prayer. The of-
fering taken up by Mrs. Barrows
and Mrs. Broadfoot was dedicat-
ed by Mrs, Williams.
Mrs. Britton'presented Mrs.
Ross Gordon with a life mem-
bership and pin on behalf of the
ladies in appreciation for her
faithful and efficient work as
social convener. Mrs. John
Turnbull introduced the speak-
er, Mr. Brierley, from the
Rescue Mission in London where
he is a Volunteer Service Work-
er. His pictures and talk gave
a vivid picture of life on skid
row. 'Mrs. Stephenson thanked'
the speaker. . •
Reports from various com-
mittees showed the church
work well, done. Volunteers
for Red Cross sewing were re-
quested. Rev. Anne Graham
5,3 will be the guest speaker for
the Autumn Thankoffering
meeting in October. It was
decided to hold the Autumn
Fair on the first Saturday in
October.

Saturday evening with a good
turnout of mixed doubles and
very keen competition.
