Five Huron County girls
will compete Saturday for the
title of Huron County Dairy
Queen at the Clinton spring
livestock fair. The winner will
compete for the title of Ontario
Dairy princess at the N. E.
They are; Lynda Walden,
R.R.2, Lucknow; Ann de. Groot,
. Blyth; Dawna Reynolds, R. R. 2,
Seaforth; Donna Ritchie, R. R. 3,
family. Her husband spent the
week end in Kippen and she re-
turned home with him. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Men -
ard of London visited yir. and
Mrs. Russell Faber and family
on the week end.
Miss Faith Dikin of Detroit,
Mich, spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Vivan Cooper . She
also was the guest of honor at a
shower held in her honor prior
to her: marriage to Mr, Gary
Cooper on June 7th.
Mr. Dennis Kerr of Dor-
chester and Miss Nancy Suther-
land of Uniomiille recently visit-
ed an aunt and uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Eldin Kerr.

former "Marie Sinclair" of RR3,
Kippen and now of Niountain
View, California. The evening
opened with a sing song with •

Mrs. Robert Elgie being Master
of Ceremonies. Two contests
were conducted by-Mrs. Elgie
and one by Mrs, Keith Lovell.

by Ed. Star of Toronto, secretary
of the Ontario Agricultural Soc-
iety.
The queen competition is
sponsored by the Huron County
In the novice class with 32
competitors a girl was top scor-
er, Helen Chandler, R. R. 3,
Wingham, received 578, points,
while Jim • Middleton, R. R. 3,
Clinton, had 502 points.
. In the competition for the
six major awards, Helen Chan- .
dler-was the high'novice judge
with .578 points to win the Can-
adian National Exhibition shield.
Toni Papple with the high-
est score in the entire competit-
ion, (1.2 points, won the Blateh-
ford Feeds Ltd. award. He also
had the highest score in swine,
190 points out of a possible 250,.
and won the L. trophy as
well as die highest score in the
dairy section, 140 points with a
.possible score of 200, winning
the Carnation Company Ltd.
trophy. ,
, Gerald Dietrich, R. 12.1, Cen-
tralia, had the highest score in
the sheep section with 9'7 points
of a possible 100, and was aw-
arded the Cyanamid of Canada
award.
Murray Morrison, R. R.1,
..Lucknow, , had the highest score
in the beef section, 193 pointS
with a possible 250, and won
the Huron County Beef Producers
Association,aWard. .
Douglas G. Inglis, extension
assistant fur' Huron County for
the Ontario Department of Agri-
culture, was in charge of the
day's events.
