Debenture will be for twen- ty years at an interest rate of per cent annually. It will be sold to the Ontario Education Capital Aid Corporation, the first bond issue offered by Huron Csunky.Aold 2,f,,E_OucAtjgri„Once its inceptidn. • .°' It was pointed out that it is not necessary to gain approval of the municipality for a school debenture as heretofore. The Goderich addition is nearing completion and will be ready for occupancy in the aut- umn. Ralph Smith, •super- vising prineipal of Goderich Public Schools and principarOf Victoria School, will act as principal of the ext ended school. He will be succeeded at Victor- la School by John Kane, now principal of. Robertson School. The Board decided that a school for trainable retarded children be opened in the south- ern, part of Hurop County as re- commended by the advisory committee. D. J. Cochrane, director of education, stated that retarded children's schools come under the Ontario Department of Ed- ueation. Parents'have the right to demand education for their children if there are one or more schools for trainable retarded children already.established in the County, "Transportation to and from either of the existing schools at Goderich, with 12 pupils, and Wingham, with 16 pupils, is too great a distance for children," • he said. "Tifat is the big prob- lem." These children have the same rights as any other child living at more than three miles' distance, he pointed out, The Board may use present facilities at the J. A. D. McCurdy School at Huron Park, Centralia, now operated by Stephen Town- ship on a part-time basis for pre-school children.
