ALFRED CLARK Mrs. Alfred Clark, Hensa11, passed away Thursday, May 22 in South Huron Hospital, Exeter in her 77th year. She was the former Bertha Welsh. She was a member of Hensall United' Church and Unit 4 of U. C. W. and a former member of the choir'for many years, She also was a former member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Sur- viving are her husband, one son James, Palmerston; one daught- er (Mary) Mrs. Keith Buchanan, Hensall and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Nell Youngblut, Vancou- ver; Mrs. Jean McMurchey, Ot- tawa. Public funeral services were held Saturday from Bon- thron FunerakHome, Rev. H. F. Currie officiating, Burial in Hensall Union Cemetery. Pall- bearers were: Dr. Int, T. Jo ynt, Jack Simmons, James Bengough, Ron Mock, Sam Rannie and Wm. Fairhairn. JAMES S. PETTY Mr. James S. Petty of Hensall, passed away in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Thurs- day May 22nd where he had been a patient for five weeks. He was in his 82nd year. The late Mr. Petty took up-resid;, ence from his farm inliNK Township in 1967 to live in his new home he built on Queen Street. One sister, Miss Flor- ence,Petty of Hensall survives. Public funeral services were held from Bonthron Funeral Home Saturday, May 24th at 2 p. m. conducted by Rev. .Harold F. Currie. Burial was in Exeter Cemetery. Pall- bearers were. W. J. F. Bell, Duncan Cooper, Glenn Bell, Frank Forrest, Asa Deeves, Robert Glenn. A reception was held i later in the leveningin Zurich Community Centre with over two hundred attending who of- fered congratulations and felici- tations to the couple. • They were married June -18, 1. 1919 in St. Peters Lutheran Church, Zurich by'die late Rev. 1 E., Rembe. The bridesmaid was 1 s Verda Seliwartz• of Detroit and the best man was the late David i Fuss. Both are active members of the chtfrch, Mrs, Adkins i being a member for, over 70 years, and Mr.. Adkins for over fifty years. They farmed in Hay Township on the saute farm for 49 years and where they still reside. Mrs. Adkins is the former Violet Furs and 'both she and her husband are enjoying the best of health and are active. Their family includes five sons, HOWard, R. R.2, Zurich; Wilmer, Exeter; Sgt., Stewart At the dinner meeting of Mensal' Kinsmen Club Ron Ware- ing was elected president for the coming year. Other officers . elected were 1st vice president, Alvin Campbell; 2nd vice presid- ent, Gary Maxwell; secretary, Bruce Nicholls; treasurer, Jack Henderson; Registrar, Charles (Chuck) Doxtador. A reading entitled "Mothers" was read by Mrs. Ken McKay. Delegates to Elimville Area Convention were Mrs. Ken McKay, Mrs, James Drummond, Mrs. S. Pepper and Mrs. Wm. Kyle. Donations of $10. 00 were given to the Cystic Fibrosis*and $25. 00 to The Childrens Aid at Goderich to send a child to ,camp. Mrs. Harry Caldwell gave the motto.
