New Pump Brings Added Fire Protection To Brucefield Area It was a big night for Tuckersmith and Stanley Townships as officials of the two municipalities took official possession of a new $13, 300. fire truck. The truck was delivered about two months ago and already has been used on two calls: It will be operated by the 20 member Brucefield Volunteer Fire Department, Owned jointly by the two townships, the new fire truck replaces a twenty year old model which now is offered for sale, The modern equipment has a 500 gal. capacity tank and a pump which can produce 350 G. P. M. It, carries a high pressure fog reel and two 21" and l-t" discharge lines. It is mounted on an Internat- i Ita0600 loadstar chassis. The brigade also has an army truck equipped with a 1, 000-gallon water-tank and portable pump. Fire Chief Stewart Broadfoot said the new truck makes his department fully equipped. The town- -ships also have a comparatively new fixehallibuilt four years ago, at ,Brucefield. Daniel Bailey, a representative of the Hamilton firm, turned the keys over to reeves Elmer Hayter of Stanley Township and Elgin Thomp'son of Tucker'- smith- Township, It was getting dusk as the dem- onstration ended with fireman Gary Triebner directing one of the high pressure hose with 'which the truck is equipped.
