at the C. 0.F. Hall in Constan-
ce to honour Mr. and Mrs. Ther-
on Betties on their recent mar-
riage. A few games of euchre

read the minutes and the cor-
responding secretary, Mrs. Fran-
cis Hicknell, read the resolutions
to be presented at the convention.
(1) that the present law against .
marijuana shall be retained.
(2) that clothing for children
under 16 should be exempt from
taxation. These were endorsed
by the members, Mrs. Robert
Murray read the treasurer's re-
port.

were in charge of the Worship
Service of the U. C. W. meeting•
in Duff's United Church Wednes-
day evening. °Mrs. Martin Baan
opened ,with the Call. to Worship.
Hymn "Jesus the very thought of
Thee" was sung with Mrs. Herbert
Traviss at 'the piano.
The scripture taken from Phil-
ippians 4: 4 - 15 was read by Mrs,
Jan Van Vliet followed with pray-
er by Mrs, Roy Williamson. Mrs.
Baah commented eji the scripture.
A skit "How long is ever after"
was staged by Mrs. Harvey Craig
and Mrs. Herb Williamson. The
setting of the scene took place
two years after the marriage of
Martha and Wilbur. They were
living at a lonely outpost where
Wilbur had been stationed with
the R. C. M. P. and one evening
a discussion took place about
adopting a )6 year old boy. This
boy had been put out for adopt-
ion and didn't.like his home and
ran away. Wilbur wanted his
wife Martha to consent to take
the boy into their home.
The collection was taken by
Mrs. Kenneth McDonald'and de-
dicated by Mrs. Baan, hymn
380 "Where Cross the Crowded
Ways of Life" was sung.
Mrs. Alvin McDonald took
over for the business and opened
with a poem "The Individual
Life". Mrs. Allan McCall read
the minutes, A letter was read
from the Children's Aid Society
in Goderich thanking them for
the pyjamas that had been made
by the U. C. W.
A donation of $25. is to he
sent to the underprivileged child-
ren's carhp at Goderich to cover
expenses of sending one child to
camp.
Mrs. Campbell Wey, convener
of the P rogram Committee sug-
gested some of the better pamph-
lets'and books available.
