There was a time, however, and it extended over many, years when the Seaforth Highlanders were widely regarded and in heavy demand for engagements throughout the district. That this was .sio is indicated by a poem found by Mrs. Jack Burehill of 'Dublin and .which had been clipped and saved by Mrs. Jason Burchill, the former Dinah Robinson of Seaforth. Mrs. Jason Burchill died three years ago at the age of 91. OUR HIGHLAND BAND IS ON • PARADE' (by Alfred Stafford) • Our highland band is 'on parade,, Their-drum is oh the_ beat, Scotch kilts show up instead, of pants, White shoes• adorn their feet; They follow their conductor up • With instrument in hand, Regalia clad 'they look the part Of Seaforth's highland band. (Chor.) Impressive, yes, but -none the less, When they do music play, Their mission is to thrill and 'bless, . And make Our hearts feel gay. Grand home sweet' home, God save the king, Or rule Britannia airs, Or even yet the highland fling,, Will banish gloom and cares.
