In 1917 he purchased the farm on the North Road, 21/2 miles north of town at Grieves' • bridge. Mr. and Mrs. Rising con- tinued to farm there until they retired to Seaforth in 1947. Mr. and Mrs. Rising have one daughter, Lavida, Mrs. N. E. Norris, of Toronto; three grand- children, Mrs. Frank Shortt (Blanche); Robert N. Bolton' of McKil- lop last week was honored dur- ing the annual Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association banquet "in Toronto when he was presented with the Cana- dian Seed Growers' Association outstanding service award. Mr. 'Bolton has been active in the pedigreed seed industry,, for more than 15 years and play- ed an important part in its de- velopment. . The award was made to Mr. Bolton in recognition "of his contribUtloir to pedigreed reed production in Canada the village and given free trans- portation.
