Sh7E1iX's General Store at
Brodhagen has been sold to Mr.
and Mrs. Morris 'Schneider of
Strathroy, effective F'eb:' 1st,
1969, The present owner is
Gary Sholdice.
The, late Williara L.• (fueree-gesser purchased the business
60 years ago lions the late An-
drew Eickraeler and a number
of years later took his brother-
In-law, Harold Diegel, now of
Mitchell, into partnership. The
business was operated under
the -hame Quererigesser and
Diegel, until 1949 when it was
sold to the late Mr.. Querenges-
Suggests
(Continued from rage 1)
car crash on Highway 8. 1, n,
Tile victims were Miss Violet
Watkins, 59, of Waterloo), lead-
ing east, alone in her car, and
Mrs. Muriel Lawson, 75, and
Mrs. Mary Shannon, 74, both of
Seaforth, passengers in a car
'driven by Mrs. Herta. Pethick,
75 Vivian St., Stratford. "
Stratford• lawyer William Jar-
vis advised the• hearing that his'
client, Mrs. Pethick, was asking
protection under the Canada
Evidence Act, whereby evidence
given ,at the inquest could • not
be used in future hearings.
The third car in the collision
was driven by George Chowen,
RR 3, Mitchell.
The slow-moving vehicle rec-
ommendation came on the cora-
'cner's suggestion,-after evidence
revealed a farm tractor, haul-
ing two grain cribs,-with a total
length of 46 feet and about six
feet wide, had been travelling-
west on Highway 8 at dusk car-
rying a triangular %low vehi-
cle" marking but no other
lights which showed to the rear.
Tractor driver George Eisler
of. RR 4, 'Mitchell said his equip-
ment was about half on and half
off the paved portion ".of the
road because driving completely
on the shoulder prevented effi-
' cient control.
The tractor and grain cribs
were not involved in6 the acci- . den but Mr. Eisler said he
heard a -crash, pulled off the
road and• stopped to investigate.
There was no indication
which vehicles had been in-
volved in the crash be heard.
