Born in 1908-in Aylesbury,- England, -the neW Canon received his University education at Western and grad- uated in theology in 1932. He was ordained by. Archbishop Williams in 1931 and except for a leave of absence in England in 1934, and a period during World War 2 as an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Canon Jam- es ministry has been served in the Diocese of Huron; in Mer- lin; Lion's Head;. Thamesville; Glencoe; Wingham; Tilbury where he gave leadership and the actual planning and const- ruction of a new parish hall. He was Reetor of St. Thomas Church, Owen Sound, where, in order to-build a new parish hall, he found necessary to learn the stone mason's trade, and there- by matched the stone church with a stone parish hall. After a period as Rector of Seaforth, Canon James moved to the new parish of Holy Trinity, London, where he went through a simil- _ar building experience in both brick and stone,. accomplishing much of the work hiniself with the assistance of men in the con- gregation. In 1964 Canon jamas, Rector of St. Paul's Church in. Strat- ford, and Rev. Trevellyan James, recently superannuated after serving, for seventeen years as Rector of the Church of the Resurrection in London; the new Canon has also a son in the ordained ministry, the Rev.
