The story of Christmas was read by Mrs. Fraser. "Joy to the World" was sung. A panel consisting of Mrs. Don McDonald, Mrs. Alvin Mc- Donald and Mrs. Harold Bolger took part in story of the "Miracle of Christ", Mrs. Fraser closed the devotions with prayer. The President,Mrs.Wm.Roe, was in charge of the business, opening with a poem "These are needed". Minutes were read by the recording secretary, Mrs. Allan McCall. Mrs. Ken McDonald gave the financial re- port. Mrs. Doug. Fraser of the nominating committee proposed the following slate of officers for 1971: Past President - Mrs. Alvin McDonald; President - Mrs. Wm. Roe; First Vice Pres- ident - Mrs. Walter Bewley; Second Vice President - Mrs. James Clark; Third Vice Pres- ident - Mrs. Neil McGavin; Re- cording Secretary- Mrs. Allan McCall; Treasurer - Mrs. Ken McDonald; Corresponding Sec- retary - Mrs. Herb Traviss; Mission and Service - Mrs. Nelson Reid; Stewardship and Recruiting - Mrs. Emmerson Mitchell and Mrs. W.E.Turnbull;. Christian Citizenship and Social Action - Mrs. Clifford Ritchie, Mrs. Roy Williamson and Mrs. Chas. McCulcheon; Friendship and visiting - Mrs. Norman Schade, Mrs. Wm. Mrs: Campbell Wey reported on work that had been done at the Manse. Donations were made to cover the bale overseas, the Children's Aid in Goderich and to Toc Alpha to send two young people from Walton Church to Niagara. It was decided to hold general meetings every other month,al- ternately,with executive meet- ings. Reports from Units are to be given at the January meeting. The S.S.Christmas Concert is set for December 22. Mrs. Roe thanked all who had taken part and helped in the past year, hoping the next year was as successful. RECEPTION FOR NEWLYWEDS A large crowd attended the reception on Friday evening in the Walton Community Hall for Mr, and Mrs. Alex McEwing (the former Sharon House) of Waterloo.Ian Wilbee's Orchestra supplied music for dancing. Prior to lunch the happy couple were called to the platform when Jack McCall read an address of congratulations and best wishes on behalf of all pre- sent. Graeme Craig presented the recent newly weds with a purse of money. Mr. and Mrs. McEwing both expressed their thanks for the gift and the pleasant evening that had been planned for them. Mr. and Mrs. John House of Waterloo, parents of Mrs. Mc- Ewing, were also present for the reception. Mr. Bruce Clark of Londonis at present holidaying at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Clark. The Christmas Concert, sponsored by the Walton Women's Institute has been changed to December 18. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ryan, Brad- ley and Deane of London and Mr. and Mrs. Don Ryan of Clinton spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ryan. The Christmas Concert spon- sored by the Walton Women's Institute has been -hanged to Saturday evening, December 19 to be held in the Community Hall., Weare glad to report that Mrs. Gordon McGavin returned home from the hospital last Wednesday.
