BRUCEFIELD BOMBERS AWARD BANQUET
The Brucefield Bombers Intermemate Lames Softball Team held an awards banquet
at the Hensall Hotel Friday evening. The team won a trophy donated by William Cutting of
Exeter for their 1st place finish in the South Huron League as well as the Bob Irwin trophy
for the league championship. The team progressed right to the Western Ontario finals but
lost out to Wingham in a 5 game series. Individual winners for team trophies were Eleanor
Shells for best sportsman and Betty Graham for most dedicated player. The team consisted

CHRISTIAN W. LEONHARDT
Christian William Leonhardt,
80, of Brodhagen died suddenly at
his home Sunday.
He was born in .Brodhagen,
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
George Leonhardt. On March
30, 1921, he married Ella Mogk
and they farmed in Logan Town-
ship until 1950 when they
moved to Brodhagen.
He was a member of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church, where
he had served as church coun-
sellor. Active in the community
he was a past president and for
32 years a director of the Mc-
Killop Mutual Fire Insurance
Company.
He is survived by his wile,
a son Ross, Logan Township, a
sister, Mrs. Henry (Ella) Rose
Of Logan Township, and two
grandchildren.
The body was at the Lock-
hart funeral home until 12 Noon
Wednesday when removal was
made to St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Brodhagen for the
funeral at 2 p.m. Burial followed
in the cemetery adjacent to the
church.
MRS. WILLIAM DUFFY
Mrs. William Duffy, 89, died
Monday in Seaforth Community
Hospital.
Mrs. Duffy was the former
Mary Loretta O'Reilly, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
O'Reilly of McKlllop Township.
Her husband William died
in 1957.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs.
Eldon (Mary) O'Brien, Clinton,
Mrs. Alvin (Esther) Rau, Zurich;
Mrs. Raymond (Vera) Murray,
Seaforth; Mrs. Mervin (Rita)
Manley, Stratford; sons, Louis
and Robert of McKlllop Town-
ship; sisters, Mrs. P. ,1. (Cath-
erine) Johnson, Seaforth, Miss
Teresa O'Reilly; brother, Louis
O'Reilly, Dublin.
She is also survived by 28
grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.
The body was at the W. J.
Cleary funeral home until Thurs-
day morning when removal was
made to St. Columban Roman
Catholic Church for funeral mass
at 10;30 a.m. Burial followed
in the parish cemetery.
GEORGE W. WILSON
A funeral service was held
Tuesday at the G. A. Whitney
Funeral Home, Seaforth, for a
former Seaforth resident who
died Thursday in a construct-
ion accident in Calgary.
George Wilmer Aaron Wilson,
32, was the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Elwin Wilson, R.R. 2, Seaforth.
He is survived by his wife the
former Joyce Batten and by five
children. He is also survived by
brothers, Douglas, New Dundee;
Donald, Kitchener; Kenneth,
London; Harvey, Galt and John,
Waterloo and by sisters, Bernice,
Mrs. Glen Shaw, Ingersoll and
Jean, Mrs. George Anderson,
Waterloo.
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. J. C. Britton
and temporary interment fol-
lowed in Pioneer Mausoleum.
Pallbearers were Allan Geddes,
Donald Carter, Jos. Mero, Jas.
McKellar, Ed Taskie and Jas.
Finlayson. Flower bearers were
Wm. Shaw, Michael Shaw and
Robert Wilson.

A hunting trip to the Mate-
chewan area of Northern Ontario
last week resulted in a McKlllop
area party returning with two
moose.

Murray, Henry Diegel, John
Driscoll and Ken Dolmage.
MOH Resigns
The resignation of Dr. G.P.
A. Evans as Medical Officer of
Health has been announced by
the Huron County Board of Health
It is effective February 28, 1971.
Dr. Evans has accepted the
post of Medical Officer of Health
for the Waterloo County District
Health Unit.
Cunningham, Auburn. Francis
Hicknell recently elected by ac-
clamation to Huron-Perth County
Roman Catholic Separate School
Board spoke. Other speakers
were Jamieson Ribey, Goderich
of Huron County Federation of
Agriculture and Leonard Mac-
Gregor.
Douglas McNeil of Clinton,
C.L A.G. Insurance represent-
ative , in his remarks, stressed
the need for liability insurance
which would cover such events as
a farm animal straying onto the
highway and being involved in a
car accident.
Entertainment was provided
by Linda Godkin, Walton, who
played the violin; peggy Dennis,
Walton, on piano and Beth Mc-
Nichol, Walton, banjo.
A singsong was conducted by
Mrs. Mervin Godkin and Mrs.
Mervin Smith.
