In a recent story concerning
a PTA sponsored turkey bingo,
the names of those who won
door prizes were inadvertantly
omitted. They are Martin Nyland,
Louis Maloney, Lorraine McKay,
Jack O'Rourke, Agatha Loomans,
Mrs. Alphonse Cronin, Len
O'Rourke, Mrs. Beuerman, Mrs.
George Goettler, Mrs. Jim
Delaney.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Coyne and
family, London spent Sunday with
Mr. Tom Butters.
Mr. and Mrs. Greg Rothwell
have returned from a year tour-
ing in Europe and Asia to visit
with Mr. and Mrs. Harold pethick.
The Sewing with Km its Club
will begin in January for any
ladies who are interested. It
will be held at the home of Mrs.
Charles Friend in Dublin on Mon-
day evenings, The club is spon-
sored by the Dublin Women's
Institute.
Mr. Joe Malone, Winnipeg was
Ian Parsons, Stratford, was
the best man. The guests were
ushered by John Brown and Kevin
Fleming, brothers of the bride
and groom, respectively.
The bride's mother wore an
aqua two-piece ensemble with
brown accessories and a white
gardenia corsage. The groom's
mother was dressed in a blue
chiffon dress with silver acces-
sories and a white gardenia cor-
sage.
Following the wedding, a
reception was held at the
Stratford Arena.
For a honeymoon to Niagara
Falls the bride chose an off white
pleated dress of winter crepe
trimmed in silver. She wore a
red rose corsage.
The couple will reside in
Stratford, Ontario. Guests were
present from Dublin, Ingersoll,
Kitchener, Listowel, London,
Mitchell, Palmerston, Guelph,
Stratford, Windsor and Wood-
stock.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was honoured at two
showers, the first at the home
of Mrs. A. Grant, of Stratford and
the second at the home of Mrs.
R. Kramp of Dublin.
visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Dan
Costello of Dublin and Mrs. John
L. Malone of St. Columban on
the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Whetham
spent the weekend in Windsor,
Miss Susan Friend of Guelph
and Miss Pat Wallace of London
were visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Friend and family.
Miss Nora Anne MacRae has
accepted a position as Behavioral
Science Consultant at Cedar

OBITUARY
MRS.• GEORGE KIRKBY
Mrs. Grace Kirkby, Burwash,
Ontario died in Sudbury General
Hospital on November 28
following an illness extending
over four years. She was born
in Walton and was the former
Grace Murray, daughter of the
late Alexander and Katherine
Murray and as a youth attended
area schools and the Brussels
Continuation School.
She is survived by her hus-
band and a family of four: Murray
of Listowel, Ian of Sudbury and
Beverly and Patricia at home.
She is also survived by two grand-
children and brothers Gordon,
Charles and William of Walton,
David of Wingham and Kenneth of
Toronto and by sisters Dorothy,
Mrs. Earl Knott, Clinton, Norma,
Mrs. Jack Larmer, London and
Margaret, Mrs. Glen Haase, Sault
Ste Marie. A brother Donald
predeceased her in 1944.
She was a member of the
United Church.
Funeral services were con-
ducted at the M.L.Watts Funeral
Home, Brussels, on December 1,
conducted by Rev. Eric 'Le Drew
and interment followed in Brus-
sels Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Neil Mc-
Gavin, Mac Sholdice, Douglas
Kirkby, Herbert Kirkby, Doug-
las Murray and Don Achilles.

BRIDAL SHOWER
Former school chums held
a kitche n shower Sunday after-
noon at the home of Miss Dar-
lene Templeman honouring Miss
Penny Gloor, Mitchell on her
forthcoming marriage. Upon ar-
rival each friend autographed
an apron and this was presented
to Penny as a keepsake.
Games were enjoyed followed
by a book of good wishes read by
Miss Elizabeth Murtha. Penny
was the recipiant of many lovely
gifts for her kitchen and thanked
all present in her pleasing way.
Lunch was served by Elizabeth
and Darlene.
A good crowd attended the
dance Saturday night in Staffa
hall sponsored by the Hibbert
Young People. Music was pro-
vided by Christie's orchestra.
Misses Debbie Machan and
Gwen Dougall, Mitchell visited
over t he weekend with Miss
Dianne Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Norris
and family visited Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. John Burleigh and
family, Goderich.
Miss Darlene Templeman,
Waterloo spent the weekend with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Templeman and family.
Miss Bonnie Miller, Guelph,
spent Sunday with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Miller and
Paul.
Miss Mary Barnes, Western,
spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Barnes.

Unit 3 of Cavan United Church
brought to a close their penny
contest. Mrs. John Boyd's team
entertained Mrs. Mervin God-
kin's team with a dinner, held at
the home of Mrs. Boyd. The
regular unit meeting was held,
with Mrs. G. Smith conducting
the worship and Mrs. M. Godkin
in charge of the Topic.
Christmas hymns were sung
and the program for the coming
year was planned.

Burns U.C.W. met ak the home
of Mrs. Leslie Reid with 14
members and one visitor pre-
sent. Mrs. Trewin opened the
meeting and the Study book was
given by Mrs. Jim McEwing.
Mrs, Jim Scott conducted the
business session, and read a
"Christmas Prayer", The trea-
surer's report was given by Miss
Jean Leiper. A thank you card
was received from Mrs. Harvey
Taylor and family. The next
meeting will be 'held at the home
of Mrs., Jim Scott on December
16.

Immaculate Conception
Church, Stratford, was the setting
for the marriage of Elizabeth
Jane Brown, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Brown, Dublin, to
• Ernest Edward. Fleming, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fleming,
Stratford. Monsg. V. Walsh
officiated at the double ring
ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor-length
ta
gown of brocade and peau de sole.
It had a, stand-op collar and short
sleeves with an inverted pleat at
the centre back which ended in
a train. It was trimmed with lace
ruffles and bow with floor length
ties of peau de sole. She wore
elbow length gloves. A head
piece of pearls and petals held her
shoulder length veil. She carried
a bouquet of red carnations.
Miss Rhonda Kramp, Strat-
ford, was the bride's attendant.
She wore a floor-length mauve
gown of chiffon. It was accent-
ed with flowered lace around the

waist, neck and short sleeves.
A floor-length train was attached
to the neckline of the dress. She
wore elbow length gloves, carried
mauve tinted mums and had
mauve mums in her hair.
