The Elimville U.C.W. met
Wednesday afternoon at the
Church when ladies fram.Brae-
mor Manor were entertained.
Mrs. Gilbert Johns and Mrs.
Lewis Johns had charge of the
program. Readings were given
by Mrs. G, Johns and Mrs. How-
ard Johns. Mrs. Harold Bell and
Mrs. Ross Skinner sang a duet
and Mrs. Miner led in prayer.
Mrs. Johns introduced the after-
noon guest, Mrs. Alvin Pym of
Exeter, who showed pictures of
a trip to Alaska.
Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Pehlke
of Monkton spent this week with
Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Hutton,
Dennis and Diane and Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin Fulton and Larry
of Elimville.
Mrs. Freeman Horne spent a
couple of days this past week
in London with Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Sparling and Miss Ruth
Horne.
Mrs. George Frayne spent
Saturday with Mrs. Wm. Walters.
Mr. and Mrs. James Smith
of Exeter visited on Saturday
with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Campbell
and Helen.
Miss Ruth Horne of London
and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Horne and
Shelly of Kirkton spent Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Freeman
Horne.
Mrs. Howard Dayman and
family of Kippen spent Friday
with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Walters.
Miss Carolyn Kellett of
Thames Road spent the weekend
with Miss Diane Hutton.
Mr. Phil Hern is up north

home from Seaforth Conimunity
Hospital. Mrs. Rae of Ottawa,
is visiting her daughter, Mrs.-
pegg and grandchildren.

Mrs. Lavern Wolfe on Saturday
evening.
Mrs. Sheryl de Haan is a
patient at the Stratford General
Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Wolfe
were guests Sunday of Mr. and
Mrs. Michael Connelly at
Watburg.
Mrs. Armstrong, Melbourne,
is visiting with her daughter Mrs.
Wm. Brown and Mr. Brown.
LUTHERAN CHURCH WOMEN
The monthly meeting, of the
Lutheran Church Women was held
with a good attendance. Mrs.
Edgar Elligsen and Mrs. Robert
Robinson were in charge of
Devotions. They chose "The
Nagging Widow" for their topic.
Questions and discussion per-
taining to "In a certain city
there was a Judge who neither
feared God nor regarded man,
and there was a widow in that
city who kept coming to him
and saying vindicate me against
my adversary. For awhile he
refused but afterward he said
to himself though I neither fear '
God nor regard man, yetbecause
this widow bothers me, I will
vinciate her or she will wear •me
out by her continual coming."
Mrs. Elligsen gave a reading
"For Pagans and Prayers".Mrs.
George Rock also gave a read-
ing "The World is Mine" and
presided for the business period
in the absence of the president,
Mrs. Harold Rock. A letter
and Christmas Greeting were
read by Mrs. Earl Rock from
the adopted child of Hong Kong
whom the ladies sponsor monthly.
The ladies are asked to cater
for a bowling supper on Nov. 10.
An invitation was accepted to
attend the Diamond Wedding An-
niversary of Mr. and Mrs.Henry
Bennewles at their home in
Mitchell.
The annual. Christmas Party
is to be held on December 8th
with the exchange of gifts and
with husbands as the! r guests.
Birthdays were reported by Mrs.
Oscar Young and Mrs. Earl Rock.
