CATHOLIC WOMEN'S
LEAGUE
• The November meeting of the
Catholic Women's League was
held in the parish hall on Tues-
day evening with 17 members
present. Rev. Father Oostveen
opened the meeting with prayer.
Mrs. Francis Hicknell read the
minutes. Mrs. Edward McGrath
read a "thank you" note from
the Sloan family. The treasurer's
report was given by Mrs. James
Sloan Jr. Mrs. Lou O'Reilly
and Mrs. Zack Ryan will care
for the altars for November and
Mrs. Richard Downey and Mrs.
Vincent Murray will visit the
sick.
A donation was voted the ,
"Veterans' Christmas Fund".
It was decided to hold a card
party and pot luck supper later
in November. The meeting closed
with prayer by Father Oostveen.
The mystery prize for the even-
ing, donated by Mrs. Francis
Hicknell was won by Mrs. Frank
Ryan.
A penny bingo followed with
the following being prize win-
ners: Mrs. Francis Hicknell,
Mrs. Joe Verberne, Mrs. Theo
Van Bakel, Mrs. Herman Klaver,
Mrs. Frank Murray, Mrs. Frank
Ryan and Mrs.'Ray Murray.
Lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Barry
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wein,
Dashwood spent the week end in
Toronto with Lou Barry.
Mr. and Mrs. William Albert
spent the week end in Montreal.
Mrs. W. J. Pennsonault,
Windsor, is spending this week

The November meeting of Unit
3, Northside United Church was
held at the home of Mrs. W.
Harry Brown who opened the
meeting with a reading "Late
Autumn". Hymn 516 was sung
and Mrs. Ethel McDougal read
the scripture. Following busi-
ness, guests Rey. and Mrs. J.
Ure Stewart were introduced, who

Seaforth W.I, will meet Tues-
day evening, November 17 at the
home of Mrs. Wilfred Coleman
when fall reports will be heard,
and Mrs. Clarence Maloney will
have a display of products. Roll

Papple, Mrs. A. Turnbull, Mrs.
E. Cameron and Mrs. W. Haugh.

St. Columban School and St. Patrick's School, Dublin played their annual touch football
game last Friday amid much vocal support from the cheering sections of each school. At
the end of the action, however, St. Columban emerged the victor by the lopsided score of
53 - 12. The hero of the St. Columban squad was Paul Coyne, who scored 5 touchdowns and

making payment of the SECOND INSTALLMENT of the
1970 Taxes from November 27 to
DECEMBER 15th
Any of the second installment taxes received by the
Treasurer after December 15, will be subject to a penalty
charge of 2% plus interest as noted on your tax notice.
