tion attended anniversary ser-
vice at Caven Presbyterian
Church, Exeter on Sunday. Rev.
Donald McDonald, B.D.,
of Toronto was guest speaker.
Mr.and Mrs. Calder McKaig
attended anniversary service at
Caven Church, Exeter on Sun-
day and visited with Mr. and Mrs.
William Sillery.
A congregational pot-luck
supper is to be held in Cromarty
church on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCulloch
went to Stratford on Monday night
to hear Rev. Rex Humbard who
was conducting service there.
We extend our sympathy to
the family of the late Mrs. El-
mer Scott whose death occurred
at Avon Crest Hospital, Stratford
on Sunday. Mrs. Jim Miller of
Cromarty is a daughter of the
late Mrs. Scott.

a day's outing to the Pinery 9n
Saturday.
Over 40 young people enjoyed
a hay ride Sunday evening, re-
turning to the Family Life Center
for refreshments.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hemming-
way and Morris, Brussels visited
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Les-
lie Miller and girls.
Mr. and Mrs. John Temple-
man and family visited Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Hunk-
in, Teeswater.
Mrs. Sam Norris is visiting
for a couple of weeks with her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Anthony Brait and Rich-
ard, Ottawa.
Road Men
Enjoy Tour
On October 21st 28 members
of Huron County Road Superint-
endent's Association enjoyed a
bus trip to Amherstburg. On
arriving at Allied Chemical
Plants they were treated to a
beef dinner and given a tour of
the plants and open mining.
They were also entertained by
Pollard Bros. Distributors for
Allied Chemicals and processors
of sun flower seeds.
A visit to Jack Miners Bird
Sanctuary to watch the Canada
geese come and go was the high-
light of the trip.,

accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
W, N. Binning, Mitchell were
guests at a family gathering at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jas.
H. Francis of Tavistnck on Sun-
day. The occasion was to honor
Mr. O.R. Francis, father of Mr.
Jas. FranciS on his ninetieth
birthday. His Izilmediate family
were all present, with many
grandchildren and several great-
grandchildren. Mr. Francis
enjoys good health and is an
ardent lover of flowers and
spends much of his time in his
garden.

at their October meeting. Guests
were greeted as they arrived by
Mrs. Carter Kerslake and Mrs.
Larry Gardiner. The guest spea-
ker for the evening was Rev.
Soper of Stratford, a former
missionary in China. Mrs. Gord-
on Laing was organist for the
meeting and played soft music
during the arrival of the guests.
Mrs. 0, Carey presided for
the worship service and opened
with a poem 4,We Still Find
Hope". Mrs. Wm. Taylor read
the scripture passage from
Miss Agnes Ryan and Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Ryan of London were
visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
F. Ryan.

spending the week with members
of the Cronin family.

BRIDAL SHOWER
A sUrprist. bridal shower was
• held on Wednesday at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Brown in
honor of their daughter, Elizabeth
prior to, her marriage to Mr.
Ernest Flemming of Stratford.
There were about 25 ladies pre-
sent and a few games were played
and then the bride-to-be opened
her gifts. Elizabeth thanked *everyone for attending, esp-
ecially Mrs. Russell Kramp and
her daughters Charlene and
Rhonda for hosting the event,
