Day arid read and discussed how to
apply a waistband, apply fasten-
ers and covered snaps and in-
visible mending. Seasonal care
of wool clothing and care of wool
skirts was also discussed.

for the Brodhagen Brewers who
recently won the W.O.A.A.Inter-
mediate D Championship. The
lady caterers of the Chaniber of
Commerce cooked a most dello-
• sous hot beef dinner. Mr. Alf
Lockridge, president of the
WOAA was the guest speaker and
presented the team with the
trophy. .Keith Patterson was
presented with a gift for the most
improved player, Doug. Leon-
hardt for the best all round
• sport and Robert Kistner for the
most runs in. Following these
presentations everyone enjoyed
dancing to the music of "Sat-
chells Orchestra."

John A, 01Z, Of Mitchell,
died at his home Monday evening.
He was barn in Logan Town-
ship, March, 1886, son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hinz.
He married Christina E. Craw-
ford in 1920 and farmed in Logan
Township until coming to Mitchell
13 years ago. He was a member
of Knox Presbyterian' Church.
Besides his wife he is sur-
vived by sons Alvin and Ivan of
Logan Township; Carl, of Grey
Township, and Stanley of Hamil-
ton; daughters, Mrs. Lloyd(Edith)
Puschelberg, of Logan Township,
and Mrs. Betty Bissonnette of
Mitchell; two sisters, Mrs.
August (Katie) Pots of Kitchener,
and Mrs. Freida Ullner of Monk-
ton, 31 grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
The body was at the Lockhart
funeral hoMe, Mitchell, after 8
p.m. Monday where a service was
held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with
burial in Harvey's cemetery,
Logan Township.

CHAMPIONSHIP
Brodhagen Sqeirts downed
Londesboro 12 - 8 to take the
WOAA Squirt Championship 'on
Thursday night. Londesboro
came on strong in the first two
innings to come through with six
runs. Brodhagen came back in
• the top of the third to gain four
runs with Bradley Bennewies
starting the squad hitting. The
Brodhagen boys started' lacing
the ball in the fourth gaining
seven runs to take the first lead
they had in the ball game 11-7.
Both teams crossed the plate
once in the fifth to make the
• score 12 - 8. No runs were
scored in the sixth or seventh.
Bruce. Bauer led the Brodhagen
team at bat with 4 for 4 including
a homer 'and Raymond Hinz
backed him up with 4 for 5. Brad
Bromley gained 4 for 5 for the
• losers. The Squirt champs came
back to Brodhagen streets with
horns blasting and bciyS singing
out their victories.

of Columbus. The executive head
of the 1,200,000 member Catholic
fraternal organization will talk on
"Christopher Columbus: An
Optimist for our Day," in com-
memoration of the epic 1492
voyage of the discovery of
America.
Arrangements for the broad-
cast have been made by the
Father Stephen Eckert Council,
No. 5289 of Seaforth and district
and public relations officer, V.J.
Lane. The Council was founded
in 1962 and is presided over for
the 1970-71 season by Leo Hagan,
Grand Knight.
