Queen of the Fair, according to the
Zurich Citizens News, was Miss Debbie
Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.John
Anderson, R.R. 2, Hensel', Miss Ander-
son won over 12 other contestants and
was chosen at the Friday night dance
held in the Community Centre. The
Zurich Minor Athletic Association and
the Hensel' Minor Athletic Association
are combining their efforts this season
to sponsor a Junior "D" team and will
be known as the combines.
In the Brussels Post we note that

nor, Frank Barnes of Arthur visited the
Brussels' Lions Club recently. A new

Raspberries have come for a second
time, according to the St. Marys
Journal Argus , as there have been
several reports of picking them in the
St. Marys area. Mr. and Mrs. Harold
B. Gregory entertained in honor of
Mrs. George W. Gregory on the occas-

ia's leading artists, Sir Arthur Streeton,
was guest of honor at a reception held
at the home of his former grandparents,
now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hall.
He left St. Marys 48years ago.
The Wingham Advance-Times reports
that Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rawn are without
a 11 v able home for the second time in
a little over two years. Sunday evening

of administrative and organizational
achievements". He was responsible for

and Toronto divisions of the departments
operations.
The Kincardine News reports in a
Ripley item that it is always a nice
sight to see the wild geese flying over-
head. On Friday morning the first flock
of Canada geese flew over Ripley in a
due south direction ,(Lee-Hee would like
to have that read "the first flock of
Canada geese flew over Seaforth in a
Hee
due north direction), and with their loud
honking they attracted the attention of
many district residents.
From the Elmira Signet we scan an
item which reports that more than 400
people or about 10% of Elmira's popul-
ation will be needed in 1971 to make the
annual maple syrup festival as succes-
sful as the past one. It relates that'
over half of the 400 will be needed to run
the pancake booths alone. Profits from
the 19170 festival were over $10,000.
(note - Wonder if Seaforth couldn't
organize something to make a profit of
$10,000 - maybe taxes could be lowered
If council had an extra $10,000 to work
with.)
The Mitchell Advocate tells us that
the local Jacees held a car rally among
themselves recently and the project
worked out so well, they now plan to
develop it for -public participation next,
year. The experiment and plans for the
100 mile route were planned by Jacees
Don Williams and Peter DeCoo. The
family of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Stacey
planned a surprise celebration on the
occasion of their fortieth wedding an-
niversary , held In Woodstock. Mr.
and Mrs. Wilfred Hillebreciit quietly ob-
served the fiftieth anniversary of
their marriage recently. Again we come
across raspberries in local gardens. Mrs.
C. Howard and Ferdinand Miller say the
present crop is very good.

good sign for fall from Lucknow is that it's
"raspberry time" again at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Atkinson where they
