Correspondent Mrs. Ken McKellar Mrs. Calder McKaig presided at the September meeting of the Women's Missionary Society of Cromarty' Presbyterian Church and used a proverb for her open-, ing remarks. With Mrs. '1,/111 Miller at the piano, hymn 482 was sung. Scripture lesson from Proverbs 31: 10-31 was read in unison and Mrs. McKaig led in meditation and prayer. A topic "The Mystery of Life's Extras", prepared by Mrs. Jefferson was presented by Mrs. Grace Scott. The offering was dedicated by Mrs. Grace Scott. Ten members answered the roll call and one visitor was present. Mrs. T. L. Scott was the hostess and con- ducted the business period in the absence of ,the president, Mrs. M. Dow. Mrs. Lam3nd gave the treasurer's report. It was announced that the presbyterial sectional meeting will be held in Motherwell Church onSeptember 30th. Mrs. Lamed read inter- esting items from the Canadian Bible Society quarterly. Mrs. Scott read excetaite from 'letters received from her son, D who is a teacher in Three Riv School, Sarawak. The meeting closed with a hymn and prayer. Ure and Mrs. Stewart spent a few days in London when they visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred Parsona formerly of Seaforth, Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Kaiser and Rev. Wray and Mrs. Mather, who formerly lived in Lucknow and Blyth respectively. Mrs. Thomas Crawford, Win- nipeg, returned to her home on Sunday after spending a vaca- tion with her mother, Mrs. W. G. Wright. She was accompan- ied by her children, Jill and Tom, who have spent the summer with their grandmother. Mrs. Leo Rafuse has returned to her home in Newcastle, N.B. after a vacation with her mother, Mrs. W. G. Wright. Visitors over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Orville Oke were Mr. and Mrs. David Cor- ney and family of Winnipeg, Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Huffy of Barrie, and Miss Connie Bell of Goderich. Allison, Goderich 3 W plus 21 42; 3rd Betty Tilley and Dinah Sills, Seaforth 2 W plus 24 - 51; 4th Katie Phillips and Hazel Hil- debrand, Seaforth 2W plus17 -40. A delicious lunch was served by the ladies and all reported a most enjoyable afternoon. Saturday evening , saw three entries from Seaforth in Goderich mixed doubles and Jack and Donna Patterson were among the win- ners. On Labour Day there were entries from Seaforth in different out-of-town tournaments' 'and Lorne and Thelma Dale plan in a Sarnia Mixed Doubles. Tuesday evening • Katie Phillips received a 2W plus 18 high for the ladies with Helen Connell and -, 2 W plus 13. Neil Bell received 1st forthe men with 2 W plus 16 and Clarence Walden and., 2W plus 15.' On Wednesday the men are holding their Furni- ture Tournament so they are hoping for a good entry. Three Seaforth ladies plan to attend the Ladies Trebles in Goderich on Wednesday and in Sarnia on Friday. visited In Jasper Park, Banff, Lake Louise and Athabaska in Alberta. Mr. and Mrs: Nelson Govenlock, of Simcoe, were guests of Mrs. Mae Dorrance last week end. Miss Margaret Harris of Tor- onto, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Scott,, Ann St. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Marshall, of Brlgden, were guests of Mrs. John Marshall on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ian MacTavish and family of Montreal, Que. and Mr. Obin MacTavish of Toronto were recent guests of Mrs. John MacTavish.
