ried a basket of pink carnat-
ions 'and _white shasta daisies.
Mrs. Stewart, organist,
played traditional wedding music
and accompanied the soloist,
Mrs. Ruth Jackson, London, who
sang "0 perfect Love"
The groomsman • was Mac
Engeland, Stratford ,and Law-
rence Ribey, 'London, ushered
the guests.
The reception was held in
the Church parlours.
For a wedding trip to the
East Coast, the bride travelled
in an ensemble• of mint green
and white fortrell with corsage
of pink carnat*s.
- The couple will reside on
Mornington Avenue, London.
Prior to the wedding the
bride was honoured at three
showers. The staff of Lorne
Avenue Public School, London,
held a surprise shower in late
June. Her -twin sister, Mrs.
Ribey, of London; was hostess
for a miscellaneous shower for
Lowilon friends' and relatives.
Former Hullett friends and
neighbours showered her with
many useful'gifts at the home of
Mrs. Jack Carter.

STUBBINGS ADAMS ,
in a floor-length gown of white
lagoda. The bodice, with Empire
waistline, featured a high round
collar and full-length sleeves
which were trimmed with French
Chantilly lace. The A-line skirt
was also trimmed with chantilly
lace with a chapel train draped
gracefully from the mid-back to
the floor and enhanced by French
chantilly lace. A French bonnet
held the elbow length- bridal veil.
She carried an arjr bouquet of
long stemmed yellow roses.
The mai d of honour, Miss
Jeanne Melady, Calgary, sister
of the bride, was dressed in a
floor-length gown of yellow chif-
fon. The bodice, with Empire
waistline was accented by a high
round collar and was trimmed
with Siviss Guipure lace. The
flowing overskirt Was also trim-
med with bands of Swiss Guipure
lace,
The bridesmaids were Miss
Anne Arnold, Lucknow and Miss
Joyce Ryan, London and-they wore
Margaret Ross MacGregor,,
daughter of Mrs. Ross MacGre-
gor , Seaforth, and the late Ross
MacGregor, exchanged wedding
vows with Harry L. Engeland,
London, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.
R. Engeland, Stratford, in Sea-
forth United Church. on August
7th at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. J.C.
Britton and Rev. Thomas Han-
cock, Uncle of the groom of-
ficiating.
The Church was decorated-
with candelabra and arrange-
menteof pink and white mums.
The bride, given in marriage „.,
by her brother, Charles
MacGregor, of Brighton, chose
a floor length gown of ,hand clipped
Chantilly lace on Empire, lines.
. The bodice was fashioned with
lily point sleeves and a scalloped
- "'bateau neckline . The A-line skirt
featured a front panel of Lagoda
enhanced by an Empire bow
• sweeping to a chapel train. Her
two tier veil of French illusion
was held in place•by three dainty
flowers and sprays. She carried
a white Bible showered with pink
carnations, white ribbon and blue
straw.
Mary Ribey, twin• sister of
the - bride, was the matron of
honor wearing , a floor length
gowq of Empire style featuring
Mr. Bertrand LaPointe of
Mont Louis, Gaspe, Que. and Miss
June Anne Melady were united in
marriage on July 25 at St. Col-
umban's Roman Catholic Church
with Rev. P. A. OostVeen officia-
ting at the double ring ,ceremony
and singing 'the nuptial mass.
The groom is the son of
Monsieur and Madame Lorenzo
taPointe, Mont Louis, Que. and
the bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Melady, R.R.
2, Dublin.
The altars were decorated
with yellow and white snap-
dragons and white baby breath.
• Paul Horan, provided music
for the Mass and for the soloist,
Miss Bernadette Nagle, who sang
• "Christians by Our Love",
"You'll never Walk Alone",
"Take Our Bread" and "Joy is
Like the Rain." • Don Melady,
brother of the bride and Tony
van Bakel served the nuptial
mass.
Given in marriage by .her
father, the bride looked lovely
Knox Presbyterian Church,
Goderich, enhanced by arrange-
merits of white glads and pink
mums, was the scene of the
• wedding of Trudy Ann Adams,
daughter of, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil
4fr H. Adams, Goderich, and Robert
S. Stubbings, Windsor, son of
William Stubbings, Kitchener and
the late Mrs. Stubbings on August
1st at four o'clock. The Rev.
G. Lockart Royal, Goderich s of-
ficiated at the double-ring sere-
. moray. •
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a batiste
goWn, designed in Mpntreal,
which was empire waisted with
bishop sleeves and round neck-
line. The sleeves and neckline
were trimmed with white floral
applique. The cathedral train,
draped from a bow at the waist.
The bride's headpiece was fash-
ioned of batiste with trim mat-
'. ching the floral applique on the
dress which held the shoulder
' length veil. She carried a colon-
ial bouquet of purple miniature
carnations, violets and baby's
identical gowns. All carried a
single long stemmed rose of
orange delight and wore' match-
ing head bands of sweetheart
roses.
The groomsman was Mr. Tram
Melady, R.R. 2, Dublin, brother
of the bride and the guests were
ushered by Mr. Brian Melady,
Seaforth and Mr. Jim Melady,
London.
A dinner 'was served at 5:30
in the Brodhagen community
Hall and a ',reception followed.
The bride's mother received the
guests dressed in a coat dress
ensemble of white lace over
yelloW chiffon with a matching hat
of tulle, white accessories and a
corsage of yellow and bronze
chrysanthemums. She was assis-
ted by the groom's mother who
wore a coat dress, in beige and
brown with beige accessories
and corsage of bronze chrysanth-
e mum S.
' For a wedding trip to Niagara
Fall" and Northern Ontario, the
bride donned a blue crepe pant
outfit with wide brimmed white
hat and a corsage of pink sweet-
heart roses. They wilklive in
Gravenhurst.
Prior to her marriage' the
bride was honored at several
showers one in Thompson, Man-
itoba, where the nurses with
whom she worked at General
Hospital honored her with a
shower. In London, Miss Pa-
breath.
Miss Mary Jayne McManus,
Goderich was the maid of honor
and , the bridesmaids were Miss
Barbara Bracey, Toronto, Mrs.
M. Zurbrigg, ,St. Marys,, Miss
Elizabeth Cochrane, Goderich
and Miss Linda Riddell, Toronto.
They wore floor length gowns
fashioned of voile. The empire
waisted gowns had long sleeves
and stand-up collars. The bodice
was decorated with flowers in
shades of fuschia, pink, red and
turquoise on white background.
The white skirt was trimmed at
the waist with a fuschia coloured
velvet sash. They wore white
picture hats 'trimmed with the
same fuschia coloured velvet rib-
bon. They each carried a pink
mum with fuschia streamers.
Ken Littlejohn of St. Thomas,
was the groomsman and the
ushers were Don Riddell, Wind-
sor, Gord. Gonyow of Windsor,
Brian McGregor, cousin of -the
bride, Seaforth and Tim Lowes,
nephe of the groom, Chatham.
The. orgahist was William
tricia Ryan, Miss Joyce Ryan
and Mrs. Harry Ryan entertained
in her honor.
At her home in St. Colurnban
a shower, sponsored by Mrs.
Hazel Dorsey, -Mrs. Helen Mc-
Grath, Mrs. Esther Kelly and
Mrs. Irene Kelly, was attended
by neighbours and friends.
SHOWER
Miss June Anne Melady, a
bride of July 25, was hon-
ored by her neighbours at a
shower sponsored by Mrs. Ha-
zel Dorsey, Mrs. Helen McGrath,
Mrs. Fergus Kelly, and Mrs.
Irene Kelly. Games were played
and a program was provided
with Judy Dorsey and Patti
O'Rourke tap-dancing and Lynn
and Ann Albert playing the gui-
tars. The guest of honor thanked
the ladies for the many gifts
which were wheeled in in the
oven of an imitation' electric
Stove. Lunch was served by the
sponsors. The following ar'dress
was read by Mrs. Pat MacRaft,

The reception was held at
,,the Bayfield Community"Centre
where the tables were decorated
with pink candles, ribbon and baby
mums. The head table was -
centred with wedding cake and
decorated with tuschia ribbon,
pink candles, rose bowls and
bordered with ivy. The bride's
mother received the guests wear-
ing a turquoise silk dress with
matching jacket and hat, white
accessories and corsage of
miniature carnations and pink
roses. The groom's sister, Mrs.
Gerry bowes,assisted wearing
, a .turquoise dress with pleated
sleeves, bone coloured acces-
sories with corsage df deep pink
roses. .
For the honeymoon the bride
travelled an a blue linen dress,
trimmed in bone shade, bone
shoes, embroidered handbag and
pale blue leather gloves. She wore
a corsage' of stephanotis, corn-
flowers and pink roses.
The couple' will reside in
Sudbury, Ontario.
Guests attending the wedding
were from Toronto, Hamilton,
Michigan, Windsor, Ch'atham, St.
Thomas, Amherstburg, Owen
Sound, Port Elgin, Simcoe, Kit-
chener, St. Marys, Seaforth"and
Clinton.
Prior to the wedding the bride
was honoured at a shower given
by the staff of Centennial Road
Public School in Scarborough
. wher e she taught.,It was held
at the home of Mrs. Syd; Stevens
of Pickering. She was also
feted at a mother and daughter
shower given by Miss M ary Jayne
McManus and MisS Elizabeth Co-
chrane at the McManus' cottage.
Arrangements of white and
yellow shasta daisies with trail-
ing ivy placed in the centre of
the candelabra stands and cir-
cled- with tall yellow candles
formed the background for the
marriage of Debbie Anne Miller
and Paul Patrick Rau in St.'wJam es
Church; Seaforth, at 7:00 p.m.,
on Saturday, August 8, 1970. Mr.
and Mrs. George H. Miller are
the parents of the bride and the
groom is the son of Mrs. Isabel
Rau and thrlate arerdan Rau.The
double-ring ceremony was per-
formed by Rev. Father Laragh.
The bride, given in,marriage
by her father, chose a white
formal gown of nylon organza
over taffeta, high wedding ring
neckline, empire waist, long
sheer sleeves with fitted cuffs.
The gown had tiers of guipure
lace on skirt and bodice. with a
tear drop detachable train also
trimmed with matching applique.
Iler bouffant silk illusion
shoulder-length veil edged with
guipure lace was held in place by
a cluster of rhinestone and pearl
flowers. She carried'a bouquet
of white carnations and yellow
sweetheart roses intertwined
with trailing ivy.
Miss Vickie Miller, sister of
the bride, was maid of honour and
the bridesmaids were Miss
Julianna Rau, London and Mrs.
Gerry Armstrong, St. Marys,
sisters of the groom. They wore
identical' empire styled gowns in
stripped yellow voile. Guipure
lace circled the high neck. The
full sleeves had tight cuffs with
matching trim of guipure lace,
interwoven with satin • ribbon.
-Panels of guipure lace created a
bib effect. They carried bouquets
of white and yellow shasta daisies
with trailing ivy. They wore
flowers in their hair that matched
their bouquets.
Mr. John Neilson, Stratford,
cousin of the grooms was best
man. The guests were ushered
by Mr. Wayne Rin, Exeter, -and
' Mr. Gregory Rau, Seaforth, bro-
thers of the groom.

The soloist, Mrs. Ken cardno,
friend of the _bride, sang "The
Voice that Breathed Over Eden" ,
"0 Perfect Love", and "The
Lord is My Shepherd", and was
accompanied at the organ by Mrs.
John Cardno.
FollOving the wedding, a
reception was held at the
Seaforth Legion Hall. The bride's
mother received the guests
wearing a dress of oliVe green
silk shantung and coat of multi
coloured silk shantung. She chose
beige accessories with a corsage
of yellow sweetheart roses. 'The
groom's mother• received the
guests in a mauve ensemble of
stripped mauve voile with fine
lace over taffeta. She chose,
white accessories and a cor-
sage of white sweetheart
.roses.
The bride's going away
outfit was an empire waist sea
blue crepe dress. Around the
bodice guipure lace was inter-
woven with satin ribbon, with
long bell sleeves. She chose
white accessories and a
corsage of white sweetheart
roses. The couple' travelled
to Northern Ontario for their
honeymoon. •
The couple will reside in
Seaforth, Ontario.
Prior • to their marriage a
shower for the bride and groom
to be was held at the cottage
of Mrs. Theirha Wright at
Hayfield with Mr.- and Mrs.
Orville Oke as host and hostess.
Debbie and Palk were presented
with a pair of sterling silver
candle holders from the neigh:-
bours.
' Mrs. Ken Cardno and Mrs.
Gregory Rau held a miscellan-
eous shower for Debbie at the
home of- Mrs. Ken Cardno.
Miss Sharon Talbot had a
surprise shower for the bride
to be and Mrs. Bill Hotigert
and Brenda held a miscellan-
eons shower for Debbie. Friends,
neighbours and relatives were
present at these showersand she
received many lovely gifts."
