Correspondent Mrs. Joseph Kale Reverend Francis K. Moylan, S.F.M., observed the 25th anni- versary of ordination to the priesthood by a, concelebrated, Mass at St. Columban's church on Saturday, July 18th, at 4 p.m. Many relatives, friends and pa- rishioners attended the service in the fittingly decorated church. Concelebrants at the Mass were: Very Rev. P. D. Oulette,Superior General of the Scarborough Fo- reign Missions Society, Rev. Jack McIver, recently returned from Giana, Africa, and Rev. F. M. Diemert, who preached the homi- ly. In the sanctuary were Rev. Msgr. J. J. White, pH., and Father P. A. Oostveen, pastor of the parish. Mrs. Tom Kale direc- ted the church choir, Mrs. W. J. Lane was organist. and guitar- music was provided by Linda and Ann Albert. A brief wise after Mass gave the guests a chance to enjoy the beautiful summer weather which added to a really happy celebra- tion atmosphere. Dinner was then served in the hall. The ladies of the Catholic Women's League prepared and served a wonderful meal to the 145 guests., Together with the Young People's Club they had also decorated the hall with flo- wers, symbols and silver let- tering. M aster of Ceremonies was Rev. Jack McIver. The speakers were Rev. P. A. Oostveen, Msgr. J. J. White, Leo liven of the Knights of Columbus, Rev. Gordon Ken- nedy, C.S.B., Very Rev. P. D. Final address was given by Father Moylan. Review- ing his work in the Dominican Republic as a seminary-teacher, in the Philippines, and again in the Dominican Republic, he hoped to serve many more years with the same satisfaction he had ex- perienced all through the years. After dinner was over, every- body had the opportunity of visi- ting, meeting old friends and, no doubt, telling stories of by-gone years. Visitors were present from Portland, Ore., Wayne, Mich., St. Ignace, Mich:, Chicago, St. Thomas, Detroit, Indianapolis, Warren, Mich., Port Auron, Wyandotte, Elmira, Owen Sound, Chatham, Peterborough,. Brock- ville, Kitchener, Waterloo, Strat- ford, Scarborough, St. Marys, Harrow, Toronto, London, Wind- sor, Seaforth, Dublin and St. Columban. Slowly the crowd dispersed and attended a reception' at the Knights of Columbus hall. Father Moylan is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moylan. He has two brothers, Joe, Waterloo, and John, St. Colum- ban, and one sister, Mrs. Maurice (Grace) Dalton, Stratford. Rev. Gordon Kennedy, C.g.B., Toronto, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Angus Kennedy. He also attended the 25th anniversary of ordination of FatherMoylan. Rey. Frank Moylan, Dominican Republic, is visiting Mr. and Mr*, John Moylan and family. Mr. and/4ra. Jack Murray and family, Toronto, visited Mrs. "Michael Murray. Mr. and _Mrs. Tom Kale and Mrs. Joseph Kale were in Cola- lingwood on Sunday visiting Mrs; Rita Stapleton and Miss Mona Stapleton.
