1 - 0 lead. St. Columban 'con-
tinued to press but the Yugoslav
goalie came up with fine saves
on Tom Love, Gerald Ryan and
George Love, the latter on a
point , blank shot that the goalie
just deflected over the top cross
bar at tie last second. London
tied the score midway through
the half when their left-winger
passed to the centre forward who
scored into the top left corner
of the St. Columban net, just out
of reach of goalie Paul O'Reilly.
St. Columban moved ahead .2-1
when Tom Love centred the ball
from the left wing and with Gerald
Ryan and the Yugoslav goalie
both going for the high ball, it
bounced loose and George Love
fired the ball into the unguarded
Yugoslav net.George Love scored
again moments later but the
referee called the play off-side
deep in the London end to make
it 2 - 1 at half-time. The Yugo-
slav team came on strong in the
second half but the St. Columban
defence and goalie Paul O'Reilly
came up with many fine saves.
St. Columban also had fine
chances to add to the score with
both Gerald Ryan and Tom Love
having break aways from centre
field but neither could score,
with their shots just a little off
target. London tied the score at
2 - 2 with about 15 minutes left
in the game when St. Columban
full-back Tom Ivielady had his
clearing shot blocked by another
player and the ball bounced to a
Yugoslav player who scored from
the St. Columban goal line with
goalie Paul O'Reilly having no
