ELDER-MILLER REUNION
The annual gathering of the
Eider-Smillie clan took place at
Seaforth Lions Park Saturday,
with members from Montreal,
Toronto, Kingsville, Pittsburgh,
Pa., Chatham, Strathroy, Byron,
Ailsa Craig and nearby places.
The older members enjoyed
renewing acquaintance during the
afternoon, while the younger
members enjoyed a swim. This
was followed by sports and games
conducted by Mr„, and Mrs. Jim
Rowe.
Sumptuous picnic meals were
enjoyed by all.
Letters and reports were gi-
ven by members of the executive
committee. It was decided to hold
the 1971 reunion, same time,
same place.
Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Geiger
entertained on Sunday those
members of the Elder clan from
a: distance who were here atten-
ding the Elder-Smillie reunion

Deaths
Investigation by provincial
policy from Toronto, Mount Fo-
rest and Wingham, has confirmed
that the deaths of Mr, and Mrs.
Clayton McGregor ,of R.R.4.,
Brussels, were the result' of a
murder-suicide.
Dr." .I. K. McGregor, Wingham
coroner (not related) said he will
not call' an inquest into the deaths.
He said the,deaths were discussed
with provincial police and the
Crown Attorney and the decision
was to close the case.
An autopsy on the body of
Mrs. Roselle McGregor of R.R.4.,
Brussels, found in herfarmhouse:'
home about 4 p.m. Thursday af-
ternoon, revealed that she had
been shot three times and, re-
ceived blows to the head from both
a blunt and sharp instrument; Det.
Sgt. • George Herries of Mount
Forest OpP said. .
Her husband, Clayton McGre-
' gor, was shot once, an autopsy on
his body revealed.
Det. Sgt. Herries Said the
murder-suicide occurred in -the
early ,hours of July 9.
The . bodies were discovered y
in a front bedroom by a neighbOur
who noticed' that 'Mr. McGregor's
cows had not been milked Wed-
nesday or Thursday morning.,

the farm home, which is located

Hensall Recreation Commit-
tee commenced its playground
programme for children aged 6-
12 years on Monday with crafts
from 2-4 p.m. Monday to Thurs.:
day. Next week the programme
will be held after swimming les-
sons from 3-5 p.m. and will in-
clude sports which will be con-
ducted by Joe Reaburn.
Pamela Sangster and Mrs. A.
Couper have planned and ar-
ranged the programme and will
be assisted by Sheila Sangster,
Nancy Forrest and Jane Smith.
The programme will include
sculpture and 'carving frotn vari-
ous materials, kite making, pain-
ting, puppet making, a scavenger
hunt, story telling, as well as ball
games and general activities in
the park.
There will be volleyball and
badminton equipment available
for any high school students who
might like to use these facilities.
The Recreation Committee
requires extra help for the play-
ground prograMme and urge any-
one who feels able to spare an
afternoon to help to come to the
arena at the times mentioned.
HOLD FAMILY REUNION
A family reunion was held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Hyde, Kippen, bver the weekend.
Those attending were Pastor and
Mrs. Wallace Stephenson, Ruth
and David. of Dryden, Mr. and
Mrs. Michael Welch and Heather
of London, Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Yacknovets, Shelly and Ricky of
Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs:', Orrin

Is Popular
The rock spectacular held at
Seaforth Arena op Saturday in--
eluded the Sea/forth group' "To-
morrows Dawn". "The group took
first place in the recent Lions
talent show at the Lions Carnival.
Brendan Clinn of the P.C.
• agencies, Toronto, who manages
the Magic. Circle, the feature
group at the Saturday dance, was
happy with "Tomorrows Dawn".
"This extremely young group
ha s 'great potential and an abun-
dance of talent. With diligent
practise and a little seasoning
"Tomorrows Dawn" could be-
come one Of the top groups in
the country," he-said.
It is understood the dance
sponsors are including the local
group in plans for future dances.
