Scanning
the Weeklies
By Lee Hee
From the Lucknow Sentinel we scan an
interesting item in ,which it relates that
Gordon Finnigan of R.R.2., Auburn, has
sold his farm on the 4th concession of West
Wawanosh Township. The farm has been in
the Finnigan name for 123 years and has'
• had but three owners in that time, John
Finnigan, his son Richard Finnigan and his
son Gordon Finnigan. The new owners are
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Walger of Shakes-
peare. Bill Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Fisher of Lucknow, has been ap-
pointed manager at Chapleau branch of the
Bank of Montreal. He has-been at Clinton
for the past year.
The Mitchell Advocate points out that
Alvin Ahrens has been named president of
the Perth Co-operative Medical Services

Mrs. Tom Stewart,- Carlingford, was in-
stalled as Honored Queen of the Inter-
national Order of, Job's Daughters, Bethel

From the St. Marys Journal Argus we
note that a 1931 Rolls Royce Sedan, in im-
maculate condition, caused considerable
interest recently when it stopped briefly
in the downtown area. The property of a
London man, the 6-cylinder vintage auto
cost $17,800 when new and is still worth
about $6000 on the vintage car market. The
6-cylinder motor purrs like a kitten, re-
gardless of its almost 40 years of opera-
tion.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blackwell, accor-

their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Prior
to their golden wedding anniversary, the
couple enjoyed a trip to the British Isles,
a gift of the immediate family.

Jack Hayes; first.kvice-president, 'Lloyd
Casemore; second vice-president Gord

note that Bill Amos, chairman of the
Ausable River Conservation Authority,
testified before an inquest Jury inparkhill
last week that "the big problemwe have is
vandalism". The story goes on to relate
that over the past weekend vandals at, the
' Parkhill dam again destroyed the warning
