MrS.john Templeman
Nelson Howes Orchestra pro-
vided the music for dancing Fri-
day night at Stalfa Hall when friends
and neighbours honoured Mr. and
Mrs. Bruce Dow on their recent
marriage. An address of good
wishes was read by Gerald Carey
with John Scott making the pre-
sentation of a gift of money frbm
those present.
Mr. and Mrs. John Burleigh
and family, Goderich, Mr. Ross
McNicol and Janice, Hensall, vis-
ited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Norris and family and Mrs.
Sam Norris.
Dianne Miller visited over the
week end with Mary Jane Temple-
man.
Misses Edna and Janet Miller
London spent the week end with
their parents, Mr. and Mrs.Leslie
Miller
Ruth Templeman was a week
end guest of Susan Scherbarth,
Brodhagen.
Rev, and Mrs. Bruce Eaton
and Andrew, Orillia and Mrs. Eaton
Sr., Acton, visited Monday with
Mr. and Mrs. John Templeman and
family.
Miss Joanne Warden visited for
a few days in Toronto.
Given in marriage by
her father the bride wore a
floor length gown of white peau
de sole with sleeves and, train of
Chantilly lace. A band of corn
flowers and baby's breath held
her finger-tip veil of silk illus-
ion and she carried a cascade of
corn flowers, stephanotis, mar-
guerite daisies, baby's breath and
ivy.
Miss Dawn Sawtell of Wood-
stoCk was maid of honor wearing
a floor-length gown of orchid
cotton with a wide-brimmed leg-
horn 'hat and carrying a multi-
colored sheath of daisy Mums.
Miss Anne Rolfe, Miss Cyn-
thia Newnham and Miss Rose-
mary Newnham were brides-
maids with little Cathleen Watt
of London as flower girl. The
bridesmaids wore long gowns of
floral cotton print 'with wide-
brimmed leghorn hats and car-
ried 1 sheaths of white daisy
'mums. The flower girl wore a
similar gown with a headpiece of
multi-colored daisy 'mums.She
carried a nosegay of white daisy
'mums.
David Britton of 'Waterloo
performed the duties of best man
and ushers were Bruce Brady of
Seaforth, Brian Habkirk of For-
est and Rob. Rolfe, of London.
The bride's mother received
guests at her home for the re-
ception wearing a cocoa brown
coat and dress with beige acces-
sories.
The bridegroom's mother
chose a pink coat and dress en-
semble with white accessories.
For a wedding trip to „the
Bruce Peninsula, the bride wore
a scarlet •Jumpsuit with a navy
cape, navy and White accessories
and a corsage of red, white and
blue flowers.
Guests attended the wedding
from London, Woodstock, Sea-
forth, Ohio, Guelph, Ottawa and
Kitchener.
The bride 'was honored at
several showers prior to her
wedding. Shower hostesses in-
cluded Miss Dawn Sawtell, Mrs.
J. Matthews and Mrs. R. J.
McDonald; Miss Cathy Talanda,
all of Woodstock; Mrs. Jack Ben-
nett of Tillsonburg; 'Mrs. Max-
ine Somers of Ingersoll; and
the Nothern Life office staff in
London.
The couple have taken up
residence in London.
He was a member of Moncrieff
United Church.
He is survived by his wife,
the farmer Lena. Amelia Ward,
two daughters, airs. Roy (Iva)
Pfeiffer of Moncton and Mrs, Sin- •
clair (Noreen) Barlow of Bras-
sels; three brothers, William and
Colwell of Listowel and Clifford
of St., Louis, Missouri and five
grandchildren.
The body was at Peebles fun-
eral home, Atwood, where the
funeral service was held Tuesday
at 2 p.m. Burial was in Elms
Centre cemetery."
Brucefield
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dallas
left Monday for a vacation in Van-
couver where they will meet her
sister, Mrs. J. R. Cross and Mr.
Cross, B.A.Thg. en route from
Hollywood, California, at the Syl-
via Hotel. Later they will visit
Mrs. Grace Bingham and family
of Vancouver.

MRS. W.JAMES BROWN ,
Mrs. W. James Brown, 6'7, of
Seaforth died Friday after a
short illness at the Seaforth Com-
munity Hospital.
The former Catherine Dole ,
she was born in Tuckersmith
Township, the daughter of the late
Robert C. Doig and Margaret Laid-
law. She was educated at Tucker-
smith schools and Seaforth Col-
legiate Institute. She was mar-
ried
y
at the manse in Egmondville
in 192'7 to W. James Brown and
farmed in Tuckersmith Township
till 'retiring in 1968 when they
moved to Seaforth.
Surviving are h
(Flora) Muir, Seaforth; Miss Jes-
qr husband,
three daughters, Mrs. Donald
sie M. Brown and Mrs. Oscar
(Mary) Morey, both of Galt; three
brothers, Paul, and James both of
Tuckersmith Township, Robert J.
(Sandy) of Seaforth wand seven
grandchildren.
The body was at the R.S.Box
Funeral Home, Seaforth, where a
funeral service was conducted by
Rev. T.E,Hancock of Egmondville
United Church 2 p.m. Monday.
Burial was in Baird's Cemetery,
Stanley Township. Pallbearers
were Jack Patrick, Robert Pat-
rick. Robert Tyndall, Russel Mil-
ler, Lloyd-Haney and Wal-
lace. Flowerbearers were Ken
Doig and Chas. Dungey.
LOIS MAE ELLIOTT
Miss Lois Mae Elliott, 17, of
Feversham died Tuesday in Col-
ling-wood hospital.
She was the daughter of Mrs.
Harold Taylor and the late James
Elliott of Seaforth.
Also surviving are two sis-
ters, Mrs. Donald (Julene) Ri-
ley, Bryanston; and Mrs. Jack
(Marie) Baker, Exeter.
The body was at the R.S.Bok
funeral home, 5eaforth, where a
private funeral service was con-
ducted by Rev. T.C.Mulholland at
2 p.m. Thursday. Burial was In
Clinton cemetery.
The pallbearers were Frank
Falconer, Harold Pepper, Clifford
Pepper, Alex Whitfield. Flower-
bearers were Bonnie Reihl and '1
June Falconer.
GORDON A SPEIRAN
Gordon A. Speiran, 65, of
Grey Township died in Lis-
towel Memorial Hospital Saturday.
Born in Grey Township, he was
the son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Hartwell Seeirart.
New St. Paul's Anglican
Church in Woodstock was dec-
orated with bouquets of pink and
white snapdragons and candles'
for the marriage of Nancy Eliz-
abeth Rolfe and Michael John
Newnham.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Stuart Rolfe
of Woodstock and the bridegroom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.Robert
Newnham of Seaforth.
Canon L. W. Owen officiated
for the double-ring ceremony and'
organist Henry A. Clark played
traditional wedding music,
