Students Prepare for
Class Bus Trips

Mrs. Lou Rowland is a pat-

Hospital where she underwent an
operation.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Denomme,
Zurich spent a few days with
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cronin and
family this past week.
Mrs. Ron Aggar and child-
* ren, Windsor, are spending a
month with Mr. and Mrs. Ed.
Stapleton while Mr. 'Aggar is
. attending summer school.
Mrs. John Joynt and son,
Mark, Hansa% spent a few days
with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Klink-

Mr. and Mrs.• Charles Friend
and family spent the week end
at their cottage at Lyons Head.

Convention this past week in
London.
The students of the Dublin
separate School are preparing
for their class trips. The grades
4 and 5 students went to Rock-
ton Westfield Pioneer Village
and the Jungle Safari near Kit-
chener on Monday. The parents
who accompanied the children
were Mrs. Ed. Rowland, Mrs.
Frank Van Bergen, Mrs.William
Flanagan and Mrs. James De-
laney.
On Tuesday the grade 1, 2 and
3 students went to Story Book
Gardens in London. The ladies
who accompanied them were Mrs.
Steve Maloney,Mrs.Leo Kroonen,
Mrs. H. Meagher, Mrs. Olst-
hoorn, Mrs. Lorne Feeney, Mrs.
James P. Krauskopf, Sister Mau-
reen, Mrs. Ben Nyland, Mr.An-
thony- Loomans, Mr's. Ron Fer-
guson and Mrs. Frank Bruxer.
The grade 6, 7 and a students
will take their trip on Monday
and they will go to Windsor,.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Van
Steelandt have taken up resid-
ence in. Dublin following their
recent marriage. Mrs. Van Steel-
andt is the former Ricki Willems
of Seaforth.
The boys softball teams have
started for the season. The
coaches are Bill Feeney, Ken
Whetham, Dave Brown and
George Coville. They will play
on Tuesday and Thursday nights
as the girls play every Monday,
Wednesday and Friday.

The Dublin Catholic Women's
League held their meeting in the
parish hall with 13 ladies pres-
ent. 'The meeting was opened
by the President, Mrs. James
Delaney.
The secretary, MrS.William
Flanagan read the roll call and•
the minutes of the last executive
meeting held at the home of the
president where plans were dis-
cussed for the preparation of
the Costello dinner.
Thank you notes were read
from Father John Costello, Mr.
and Mrs. Daniel Costello and
Sister Caroline.
Mrs. Clayton Looby read the
treasurer's report indicating 84
paid up members.
A rate for funeral dinners
was agreed on at 500 a plate
if the baking is supplied by the
family and friends or 750 a
-plate if the baking is to be pur-
chased by the League.
A Mass was given for the
living and the deceased mem-
bers of the League to be said
in the near future.
The past president, Miss Joan
Schoonderwoerd, was presented
with a gift by Mrs. Delaney in
appreciation for her services
during the past year.
Mrs. Jim Delaney reported
on the 50th Annual Convention
held at the Hotel Condon in May
which she attended.
The theme for this was -
Through help Hope -.Teach us to
share with others Lord the good
things given us. To be a good
League member we must be
enthusiastic, eager, creative;
and spend more time building it
up not tearing it down.
Miss Ouellette reported on
Church Life and it -was stressed
that the • missions are still most
important.
There was also stress;. gut
on the teaching of younger mem-
bers and non members such'
things as quilting, bread 'baking
and many other things done In

the meeting with prayer. Mrs.
Francis Hicknell read the -mi-
nutes. Correspondence, read by
Mrs. Edward McGrath, consisted
of thank-you notes from Mrs.
Nora Maloney, Mrs. John Murphy
and Mrs. Scratch.
Mrs. Richard Downey and
Mrs. Vincent Murray are in
charge of the altars for June.
Mrs. Maurice Melady will
visit the sick of, the parish.
Final plans were made fora
bingo ,and tea to be held in the
parish hall on June 24th.
A highlight of the evening was
the interesting reports of the con-
vention held in London, given by
Mrs. Raymond Murray and Mrs.
Francis Hicknell.
The mystery prize, donated by
Mrs. Matt ClaessenS was won by
Mrs. Herman „(laver.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank McQuaid
and family, Windsor, visited Mr.
and Mrs. James McQuaid.

land, is visiting 114 daughter,
Mrs. Matt Claessens and Mr.
Claessens.
Miss Hilda Kennedy, London,
visited Mr. and Mrs. Angtis Ken-
nedy, and Mr. and Mrs. Auguste

Miss Mary McGrath, Toronto,
is spending a holiday with Mr.
and Mrs. Angus Kennedy.

ray, London, spent the weekend
at their homes.

Greene Take Honors at
Dublin Field • Day
The Green team took the ho-
nors at the St.' Patrick's School
Field Day last Friday.They were
one of six teams of 25 pupils each
who participated in the event.
In addition to gathering the
most points for the day,-the Green
team also won .the relay race
Will Attend
Convention
Members of the Jehovah's
Witnesses in ' the area plan to
attend a Toronto convention, one
of ten scheduled for Canada, the,,
end of JUly. Harl McNally, local
presiding minister, said the pros
gram is designed to instruct the
witnesses on advancing their min-
isterial program.
